    Honda Pilot

Awesome shine!! I haven't used any Menzerna stuff yet but I keep seeing great results on these forums. I love the high reflections!! Kinda funny about the tire shine. Wife loves it on her car, I hate it on mine. Could be I'm always in the dirt and mud and it's pointless, but I really like...

iPhone 4S or the Competition for under $100?

Just my $.02. I have an 18 yr old daughter. The inputs and opinions from all of us are great but what does your daughter want to do with the phone? My guess is Facebook, a few tweets and a boat load of texting. Seems about every teenager in the world (especially the female versions) falls...

Do it your self drive thru car wash HORROR!!

Reading these posts has brought a smile to my face. It's funny how some people think driving through a car wash is "detailing" a car. My family wants car details as birthday and Christmas presents. It makes me feel great to do it too! My Pops and I used to have contests to see who could get...

Tire Dressing applicator - what's a good material

You'll laugh but I use a tile sponge from HomeDepot. It's big so it's easy to handle and if I have to clean a truck it covers more real estate. The other thing is the sponge is pretty dense. Seems to keep a little product in it longer. If you have some 30 series (super low profile) you just...

My detail day! First time machine polishing ever :)

Car looks awesome! That's a lot of work and from the pics, it paid off. Colors are sporty and classic. The hood vents were the coolest part to me. Keep up the good work! Like Bobby said, you'll get better as you go along and you'll find it becomes rather addictive

    Polishing a toolbox?

I used Mothers metal polish on an orange LC pad with my PorterCable 7424XP. It took about 2 hours but it brought it back to an absolute mirror shine. I think it will cut the oxidation better than a compound for paint.

    M105 + LC microfiber pads

I've used M105 on 7424XP with an orange LC pad with great results. My method was wash, clay, M105, M205 on a red LC pad then follow with #26 Megs yellow wax. I know the wax is old school and there's surely other recommendations, but I've always had great luck with it. Just be patient with the...

    Best car in 2011

Everyone will laugh at me (as my wife is now), but Honda Odyssey is a do it all ride. Sorry gang, got kids and I gotta be realistic. My favorite is the revamped Jeep 4-door with the new Pentastar Wife says '64 Corvette....uhhh, honey. Says she doesn't car about 2011. '64 Corvette.

    My truck. finally finished.

Looks great. Dodge (Ram) wishes they look that good from the factory. I had to look at the reflective picture twice....thought you were just snapping a pic of the Porter Cable. Nice reflection. I've read great things about PoorBoys, looks like they were right!

Please Help Create a Treatment Plan for My ABP Acura RSX's Paint

As far as working with the good, better, best products: I think right now the Megs is a good choice. It's good product that's pretty easy to work with and you can get the feel of how things work with what products. The other products you mentioned are going to work great but you need to walk...

Newbie-How am I doing so far?

Don't know if this will help you any in the scheme of things, but my learning curve was not only learning which product but how to use said product. Some products were easy to use, some had to breakdown to work right, etc. Practice (and reading these forums like a novel) was the only way I got...

My neighbor yelled at me for washing my cars too often.

I hate to hear you have a crazy neighbor. Maybe when he films you, you could send the tape (or youtube clip) to Mike as a training aid?? I'm lucky, well, in a backhanded way, as my neighbor drops her car at the end of my driveway sometimes when I wash. Makes me feel good someone likes how I...

    How do YOU clean windows?

A.I.M. glass cleaner and MF. The cool glass is important. I don't know about the importance of this but I always spray cleaner on the rag, not the glass. Two reasons, no misting onto panels and it seems to remove whatever on the glass beter. Wipe to clean, flip the rag, wipe to 'polish'.

Best Way to Safely Strap Down Water Tank- In Van

I don't know what van you're in but my company has an E350 with a rollout tray (well, used to) that carried most of our products. It weighed about 3,200 lbs loaded. We broke the tray from overloading and went to making our own cart. We welded 3x3 square metal tubing into a frame, then welded...

    Jeep Wrangler Black plastic help

If it's not painted, just black plastic, use a heat gun. Let the gun heat the surface until it begins to look wet. It actually brings the pigment back to the surface. Make sure you don't leave it in one area too long as it will deform (melt) the texture. I did it to the grill on my...
