    Bringing this thread back cause I have the same concern. I mainly use the 3401 and just recently bought 6.25 in. da pads but never thought that the rotary pads might be better/safer? Thanks in advance for the help!

    I agree with Brad. If the paint is virtually flawless still I would go ahead and apply a coating. Make sure to remove all surface contaminents first though via nanoskin and or clay.
