Neil Peart, Rush Lyricist/Drummer passes at 67

I bought my chrome clad Slingerland ('79) kit because of that guy. I would spend hours pouring over his kit and licks. I liked Fly by Night and Caress of Steel. Not my favorite band but I could never discredit their awesomeness. I saw them in 76 or so

    Black Painted Rims

Aw jeez Mike, I just spent $35. I didn't have a problem with a microfiber towel but just fell in love with the brush for the deeper crevices of the wheels. Plus I always banged my hands with the towel approach. The Mitts look nice and soft, are they water proof?

    Black Painted Rims

And Wheel Woolies for softness. I have been using the Mothers brush for the faces but it feels somewhat not soft. I recently bought the Wheel Woolie Boars hair brush to use instead.

Ceramic coatings application vs ambient temperature....

Any kind of heater that takes propane will generate a ton of moisture in the air(and on everything), you don't want that. If you can use 1500 watt space heaters you can do it. They will just have to run a bit. Do not plug more than one on any given circuit. A 12 gauge extension cord can get you...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I used the Ryobi under carriage washer today and it worked like a champ with a 1600psi machine. Now granted my car is low so the spray is effective. Might be stretching it to use on a truck. The wheels are 5" so there is that limit for low cars. I have been using Megs Hyper-wash lately and all...

Looking for a simple kit to get started

My eyes hurt looking at those Canadian dollar amounts. I wouldn't worry about a foam gun to get started. Some shampoo(Meguiars Hyper-wash 38), sealant(Collinite 845 is 34) which is enough to do 30 cars....probably more, Meguiars Quik wax is 10 something your money for drying aid, Some wash...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

That is my stored placement. The roller cabinet moves and vice spins 90 or 180 for a better working position.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I had to try this out. Not a bad price,43,at Home Depot. We will see how well it works with a 1600psi electric. I did a minor aftermarket mod to increase the angle for more of a working 90 degree. Cutting off the stop and drilling a third indent should work just fine.

Opti Gloss vs Wolgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

I guess I would say glassy meaning a more articulate mirror reflection where as a sealant is more a muted reflection. With the coating shine lasting longer. Cquartz is just as easy to use as Gloss Coat and a better deal. Reviews say Cquartz has better longevity. So far the CQUK is better in...

Rinse less wash on coated car

I have been using ECH20 on the 3, CQUK3 cars here. I recently bought a 16OZ starter bottle of McKees 914 and was blown away how good it is. It seems to be just the right amount of slick to get the job done. ECH20 works fine but seems to be a little too slick, if that makes any sense. Get a...

Opti Gloss vs Wolgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

I have used both and Gloss Coat will be easier to maintain down the road. Plus it will look glassy compared to Wolfgangs liquidy wax look. Gloss Coat will outlast DGPS by a big margin. Buy some Opti seal( sold here) or Hyper Seal(not sold here) to make the not so slippery( not my opinion) into...

    Wheel coatings

I use CQUK3 for my new or hand polished wheels and Pinnacle black label wheel coating when the wheels are on the car. So far so good with rinsing off salt/brine/sand. I still use soap and some sort of brush/woolie. But a rinse works pretty darn good

Recommendations for a Drill Set and Attachments (For Tire Cleaning)

Wow, that Ridgid is a no brainer. Got a guy at work that has all the Ridgid tools, including at least 10 drills. He has used the warranty many times. If I started over I would go Ridgid. I used Milwaukee as an example(they are sweet though) I have Makita, Ryobi, Dewalt and Milwaukee at my disposal.

Recommendations for a Drill Set and Attachments (For Tire Cleaning)

Since holiday sales are here for a minute you might want to check out Home Depot for a drill. Don't get stuck buying any ol drill. I would suggest a Milwaukee 1/2 inch M18 kit. Don't bother with the hammer drill kit unless you actually need it or fore see the need. The lower end drills have...

What did you do today non-detailing related?

I had my daughter buy these for her summer tires. Good reviews so far and they do make one of the top rated snow tires, so must be good, right?
