Coating experts: I need your opinions here

Tell him to give reset a try....if this hasn't been mentioned. When I use it on my UK3 and Gliss cars it rolls off with hardly any remnants of soap to rinse off. 5 cars deserve a pressure washer!!! But it sure does look like he is washing the coating off his car the way the soap folding looks...

Coating experts: I need your opinions here

subscribed. I agree with the rinseless wash idea. He should probably rinse off as he goes instead of waiting until the whole car is washed. He definitely needs a drying aid and needs to go over with a final buff instead of thinking a drying towel doesn't leave any water on the car.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I went to use my partial tube of Opti-lens and it had turned to jello. Pushing the plunger got most of the goo out out but also cemented it in place. It worked okay but what a waste. I think I left to much air in the syringe last time. When will Optimum make it easier? The dribble method is...

We are the people that have fun watching grass grow and paint dry.

    Should I upgrade to a Flex 3401?

I definitely agree with less passes. I switched from a porter cable 6 years ago and I am still pleased every time I pick the 3401 up. It is a wonderful feeling not having to adjust for uniform spinning. Concentrating on the paint and not machine performace is a plus.

    Tire coatings

It looks like you did a review of Tac tire coat a bit over a year ago. How did that hold up? I like the way it looked then. Why switch? unless of course it lasted a week

    Any lawn care experts here?

The rye grass is used to hold the other seed and establish a lawn.It will dye off by next year and your lawn will be some what spotty. But in time it will fill out. That is my experience.

    LC orange pads losing stiffness?

I sent my 6 orange Force 5.5s and 6 white Force 5.5s to Dave at Lake Country to take a look at. I ordered more from store X and store Y after this. I let Dave know I was just looking for some kind of answer/explanation to ease my mind and didn't want anything but maybe the old pads back...

    WGDGPS topped with Fuzion

I did the exact thing some years ago. It looked great. How long did it last, you ask....forever. I topped the WGDG during summer and let it ride. I probably recoated in October for winter with WGDG or 845

Is Graphene the next big thing for coatings?

If I missed it oops, were you able to remove them? Did any of your past coatings fair better with the power line dilemma? I would almost think a sealant or wax would handle that condensation mineral spotting better. Have you noticed that scenario in the past? Looks like you have a frustrating...

    Umm... opinions on everything please

I use the multiple mitt method of washing. When I clay before polishing I save a mitt to slop soap water ahead of my claying work area. I like this better than any clay lube I have used so far. After you are done just rinse. Lake Country pads cover the gamut.

    quartz second coating

Have you put anything on it since coating? if no, panel prep and let it rip with more uber. I wouldn't do a new over old thing. Otherwise a light polish would be the way to go and 2 coats with the new profl, if that's what you are feeling. The only Wolfgang I have experience with is WETS and...

    quartz second coating

With those miles and storage details, I don't think you need to worry about recoating. You should be good to go with just the Wolfgang rinseless wash as maintenance and maybe the Uber Si02 silica spray as a drying aid.

    Baked on brake dust

Sonax wheel cleaner + is excellent and my favorite. I can't say anything nice about the price. For factory painted silver wheels I will use Meguiars wheel brightener if they are old and neglected. Either way if they are bad a soft agitating, rinse and repeat is the best method.

Rust like stain on hood of car

Did it improve a little when you tried the clay and compound? You might need a heavier clay and a couple/few more passes. Almost looks like someone could have flicked a lit cigarette and landed on the hood. In that case it is wet sanding time.

    $75 here, $80 there.

Done dangit I ordered 6 more whites from TRC. Hopefully the same lot number as my others. Ill send the other mushies back unless LC wants to compare the difference in lot numbers. Words of wisdom, order what you need from 1 vendor and hope you get the same lot numbers.

    $75 here, $80 there.

The supposedly same white Force pad from 2 different vendors has a different firmness, both received in the last week or so and never used. You would think there should be more of a zero tolerance for the same dang pad color of set style. Someone is sleeping in the foam dome. When you polish...

    $75 here, $80 there.

For sure. When they are supposed to be exactly the same product but come from 2 different distributors something is off. If I knew there was a choice of soft or firm for the same cut pad that would be a different thing altogether. I had my brother test them just to confirm when I debagged them...

    $75 here, $80 there.

In the thread about some pads, I brought up an issue with my Force pads I bought in 2016. https://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101-a/126473-lc-orange-pads-losing-stiffness.html Some of orange and whites were softer than others respectively. I used them but was irked every time...
