Windows Vista... Anyone have it yet?

Naa, all XP machines should have *at least* 512 MB RAM (preferably DDR). XP doesn't really open up until the 1GB mark. 2 GB could be conisdered overkill, but its nice to have. Personally, I have a system with 2 GB of RAM. It's not a beast (cost was king back when I built it), but it works pretty...

What water do you use to dillute chemicals?

distilled water so that I don't end up water spots/streaks my distilled water comes from wal-mart, since most places charge insane prices (over $1.50 for a single gallon!). Wal-mart charges about 60 cents. I don't like Wal Mart and as a matter of principle don't usually shop there, but when a...

    No Touch Tire Gloss

It does seem that the glossier versions of these spray shines are always more expensive. Case in point: Armor-All tire foam (regular) is under $3 a can. Something like $2.50ish? The "extreme shine" is about $4.60ish or so. Big difference.

Out of hibernation: 2004.5 Dodge Ram 2500

great turnaround! That marring is strange, though. The truck was rather dirty, so do you think that maybe a missed rinse step might have caused it? But then again, I'm sure you probably rinsed extra considering the truck was this dirty. Maybe there was something stuck on the schmitt? But then...

    Shuttle explosion from Israeli satellite

Yup, sorry to say my friend but you have been tricked. http://www.snopes.com/photos/space/explosion.asp If I were you I'd just delete basically any e-mail with "FWD" in front of it ;). But yes, RIP to all those who died in this tragedy.

Computer help... networking to be exact.

Oh ok, that's good :). Actually, you'd be surprised at the speeds you can get... sometimes, you can get pretty nice burst speeds, and with servers you can actually get sustained rates above your speed cap! Although I believe my download is set at 7mbps, I can regularly download at 850 and get...

    Microfiber Drying !!!

That's very strange... if even degreasers didn't do anything You probably did it as one of your first things, but did you try vinegar?

Computer help... networking to be exact.

Do you know what the speed is on the cable, whether data trasnfer is unlimited, and reliability in your area? Thing with cable is, it can be good or it can be spotty. If you're in an area where the cable company doesn't do that great of a job, you may want to look into DSL or other...

    Test for Joe.P

303 AP works wonderfully on trim that is pretty new. The only thing is, it doesn't do much (appearance-wise) for trim that has already faded :)

    Target Drying Towels?

Indeed. If this is all you can afford, go for it. Vroom towels aren't bad, really. There's only one problem you should be aware of: lint. I bought a large pack of the orange Vroom towels a long time ago (when I started on my "detailing" journey), and they worked ok. However, it wasn't until...

    NTS7 is here!!

Of course, I'm just curious about the advertised "scratch-resistance." I agree with Bence, I don't see how a layer just a few molecules thick can provide scrtach resistance. Regardless, though, I'm still looking forward to the first few reviews of this product. Even if that one feature...

    Some GLAZE questions...

I will tell you one thing - on dark colors, RMG + a quality carnauba like Natty's Blue, Max Wax, Souveran .. etc... will give you a finish with amazing depth You have to see it to believe it, trust me maybe I'm easily impressed, but still... the sheer wetness is undeniable!

    NTS7 is here!!

Hmm... I'm curious about whether that "paint shield" really "shields" or not. We've heard that claim from many a dubious 3-in-the-morning as seen on tv products... will this one possibly be the first LSP to provide real scratch resistance? I'm very skeptical, but not passing judgement. And the...

    Oil Change Pump

Hum, don't some cars have magnetic tips on their drain plugs? I would think you would be forgoing the opportunity to check your plug for metal debris and such by doing this. Of course, it isn't much of a problem in modern engines, but its better to check such things anyway.

    waxing and sealing

Cure time for a typical carnauba is probably going to be about 24 hours. If you really don't want the last layer to dissolve, I suggest you look into "spit shining" (look for posts by Neothin). Otherwise, just wait a week, wash, apply a layer of wax, repeat :). For me, if I put on a sealant...

    Shoes for detailing?

My feet get wet, so any shoe is a no-no. In Floridian style and comfort, a $5 pair of black flip flops my mom got for me a few years ago from Wally World :)

It's not even possible to sell snow. Snow is snow, if someone wanted to ruin their fun they could sue for fradulent advertising :D Freeze snow - turns into ice Don't freeeze snow - it turns into water Snow is snow only by the magic of winter! (non-Floridian winter, that is :D)
