Is there a way to fix the 'suede' on my seat?

The buttons on my jeans and just wear and tear has resulted in the fake suede inserts on my seat getting a bit balled up and crappy looking. How would you 'fix' this? Is there a razor of some sort that can be used to cut off the balled up junk? Thanks in advance!

My first DIY correction - My 2006 Caddy CTS-V

Thanks for all the kudos guys (and girls?). That makes me feel better about things. Not that I didn't feel good about it anyway, it's just that room for improvement always makes me want to do it again and get it that much better. Yes, I'm a bit anal retentive. lol Thanks for all the tips and...

My first DIY correction - My 2006 Caddy CTS-V

This isn't a business for me, I'm just interested in being able to do my own vehicles. As the owner of the car, I'm happy with the results. It just bugs me to know that it could be better. lol I'll be tempted to go it again in the spring, but I'm unsure of how often is too often with this MF...

My first DIY correction - My 2006 Caddy CTS-V

Well, after spending a few months here reading around and asking a few questions, I placed my first order. It included a GG 6" polisher, the 5" Meguires microfiber DA system kit, appropriate BP, some extra 5" pads, some 3" pads and BP, a bottle of Collinite 845, 2 hydro-tech crimson pads to...

    Prime pad for 845 application?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Unfortunately I already did it the other way; putting a few little globs on per section. Sometimes I felt like I wasn't putting enough down, other times I knew there was waaay too much. Regardless, I fumbled my way through it. I think I'll find a spray nozzle for...

    Prime pad for 845 application?

Many thanks. I'll go 2.5 on the GG... just 'cause. lol Time to get to 'er!

    Prime pad for 845 application?

Ok. I won't prime the pad like I did with the MF system pads. I'll just get a bit of product on it and lay it down. Your "3" setting, is that on a GG 6" by chance? Seems this tool is a bit faster than the PC, etc.

    Prime pad for 845 application?

I've read the 845 sticky a hand full of times already. The author mentioned priming his tangerine HT pad with his pre-wax polish, but doesn't address whether he did this with his crimson HT pad and 845 as well. So, I know that just a few pea sized drops will do a fairly large area, but do I...

Those of you with back issues ... how do you manage?

Lots of great suggestions guys. Sounds like I've gotta get myself a stool of some sort, and something to lay on for the lower panels. As for what I find helps my back pain, it's massage therapy, the odd chiropractor adjustment (during particularly bad periods), and a pretty regular diet of...

Machine washing your detailing paraphernalia with your clothes...?

Yah, that's why I was only considering MY clothes. We're both pretty particular about how our clothes get washed, so we usually do our own laundry. Most how-to's I've seen (on AG and otherwise) state that machine washing pads i usually fine to do. Particularly the Meg's MF DA system discs...

Those of you with back issues ... how do you manage?

So ... I just did my first 'paint correction' yesterday and WOW is my lower back ****ed!! I'm still a pretty young guy at 29, and I'm also a regular at the gym and in above average shape, so it's hard to believe that polishing a car is causing me this much pain. I do however live with chronic...

Machine washing your detailing paraphernalia with your clothes...?

For those of you that are just at-home DIY'ers (not high volume guys who can probably do a full load or more of towels per day)... Do you wash your used towels and pads and so on with your regular laundry, or seperately? I just finished my first "correction" (Megs MF system) and had a few...

A few questions about Megs microfiber DA system before I get to work

Fingers are crossed. My weekend slipped away and I didn't get a chance to get at it. Soon though.

A few questions about Megs microfiber DA system before I get to work

Many thanks guys. I guess all I can do is try and see what happens. Unfortunately a 'test spot' on a hood is kind of pointless, but I'll just cross my fingers. I will be following up the 2 step MF DA system with Collinite 845 applied via 5.5" crimson HydroTech pads, so hopefully that'll all turn...

A few questions about Megs microfiber DA system before I get to work

Hey guys & girls. I know this is a "noob" question that's likely been answered before, but I SWEAR that I just spent 1/2 an hour google searching, and didn't come across clear answers on a couple questions I have (after watching about 10 different how-to's on this product). Mainly: 1) Many...

Made my first DIY order today!

I'm excited!! I took advantage of the fall20 coupon and made my order today.... Finally!! After a ton of great advice from you guys and a lot of learning and analyzing on my part, I eventually decided to keep it pretty simple and build on that. I was first going to go with m105/205 etc, but...

I think I've got a plan... Adjustments? Technique?

Hey Yale, just a thought here, while I'm loading up my cart. Would the DPPC step be kind of counterproductive to the MF DA finishing wax? I'm just wondering if I misunderstood you in thinking that you suggested DPPC for a 3rd step, after the MF DA finishing wax. Was your intent for the DPPC...

I think I've got a plan... Adjustments? Technique?

Thanks once again. To be honest, I don't remember why I'm stuck on the Poli Seal step. lol It was a suggestion from back in my first thread, to go along with the 105/205 combo and for some reason I've just kept it on my list. I see what you're saying about it possibly being a little redundant...

I think I've got a plan... Adjustments? Technique?

Re: Want to place order ... Can't decide ... Ugh Is the finishing compound with the MF DA system no good? I'm now recalling that you're not the first to suggest the D300 and cutting pads followed by a different polish/seal/wax. Is it really that advantageous to use the MF DA cutting system...

I think I've got a plan... Adjustments? Technique?

Want to place order ... Can't decide ... Ugh Yale, from my PC (rather than my iPhone) I was able to see the pictures in that thread. WOW!! Those results were fantastic! I'm all screwed up now though. I want to get my start-up order in while this 20% off sale is going, but now I can't...
