    Dressing Wheel Wells

95% of the time, I just wipe my wheel wells down with Blackfire All-in-One Trim and Tire cleaner and dressing. It has the perfect sheen for wheel wells.

    Best waterless wash

That's actually one of my favorite things about D115, but I could see that if you aren't fond of the scent it could be overpowering.

    Best waterless wash

I like Meguiars D115, but it isn't as economical as some other brands at waterless dilutions.

Backfire all in one trim and tire protectant

I like it on tires, wheel wells, and engine compartments. I haven't had much luck on trim though, it doesn't seem to last long there. Regardless, it's one of my absolute favorite products.

1972 Olds Cutlass - Evolution Auto Detailing, Fishkill NY

I'm so jealous. That is one of my dream cars!

    Tools to Clean the Wheel

Wheel Woolies are one of my favorite wheel cleaning tools, but I always use the Lake Country Wool Wheel Washing Mitt for the face of the wheel. The only downside to this mitt is that it leeches dye like crazy. If you get one, soak it in a pail in hot water and change out the water a half a...

    I hate parking lots

I hear ya. I just bought my first brand new car ever this year. Within two months, it was dented twice in two different parking lots. I haven't had time to get it into the paintless dent shop yet, but it is so frustrating.

BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax - I'm Sold!

Oh I almost forgot, the real recommendation comes from my wife. She's the type as Mike Phillips likes to say "can't tell a swirl from a squirrel", but she even commented on how clean the car was when she got home.

BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax - I'm Sold!

There have been quite a few spray wax threads recently and the Blackfire spray waxes seem to keep coming up. I've been using Megs D156, Duragloss, Sonax, Pinnacle Carnauba, and probably a couple of others I can't remember. I tend to use a fair amount of D156 because I have a gallon of it, but...

    Metro Blaster/ McKee's Turbo Dryer

I had the DP blower, and I currently have the Sidekick and Master Blaster (w/30' hose). I didn't have any luck with the DP blower. The motor actually burned out in the first 5 minutes of use, so I ended up returning it and getting the Sidekick instead. Even when I did use the DP blower, it...

Engine Bay Cleaning: Chemical Guys: Black On Black Dressing - Long Term Results

I don't think it's intended for interior use. I only use it on tires and wheel wells.

FGBWM: Because we need another acronym

I've been trying out different wash methods for the past several months ever since I bought my first really nice car. I started out with the basic two bucket method, and while it works it definitely takes the most preparation especially if you add a foam gun at the beginning. I moved on to...

Grit Guard Washboard - Totally worth it!

True, but I always keep my soap bucket on top so that any dirt from the outside of other pails doesn't get inside it. I'm sure in most other hobbies being that particular might seem a bit crazy, but this is car detailing, so it's likely the norm. :)

Grit Guard Washboard - Totally worth it!

I just got my Grit Guard Washboard today and tried it out while washing my 1999 Chevy K2500 and 2016 Mazda 6. This thing is totally worth the money. It is so much easier to scrub the wash pad on than the Grit Guard at the bottom. It seems to be sturdy and attaches securely to the Grit Guard...

Clearcoat peeling off rims like a sunburn on 2016 Mazda

That's interesting. I have the same exact 2016 Mazda 6 GT in deep crystal blue. I didn't think you could get the that model with the lighter silver wheels. Are those the 19" wheels? I really like the darker ones, but I am nervous about the reports of the finish peeling. So for I haven't had...

Product Review - Chemical Guys VRP Super Shine Dressing

VRP is definitely near the top of my tire dressing choices. However, it just doesn't last very long. It seems like I have to give it a boost every couple of days.
