The Baggie test marred my paint

Thanks Mike! I feel honored that you took the time to post in this thread. The paint on my car is very soft. I'm a relative novice to detailing and it took me forever to get the paint right. I've been very diligent in how I wash (2 bucket, typically a new wash towel every 2nd panel) and...

Cleaning the inside of the wheel?

The wheel barrels on my factory Mustang wheels aren't painted but may have a clear coat on them, I'm not sure. One of them is pretty beat up inside from road salt or something (but looks perfect on the front) so I figure I'll try the magic eraser on that one.

Review: Hybrid V7 by Chemical Guys

I doubt that it strips anything. As was mentioned, V7 will streak like mad on bare paint. That's one way I know that it's time to reapply sealant/wax.

I have to clean the shower!

Hahahaha, I was thinking to myself "what the hell is a common tub?". I use Megs APC, the orange is what I have. Open the window and turn the fan on. Maybe use the APC with the drill setup. Let us know how the drill works, I may try that.

The Baggie test marred my paint

I think I pushed down too hard. The marring came right out with a light buff of M205 The car is garaged, driven maybe a couple of times a week and I'm obsessive about keeping it clean. With my hand, I felt no roughness, which prompted me to use a baggie. Yep, live and learn. I used...

Cleaning the inside of the wheel?

I use a Daytona brush for regular washes and pull my wheels every few months for a more thorough cleaning and sealing. Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner and then Poor Boys Wheel Sealant. The brush hasn't harmed my wheels. I like the magic eraser idea! Anti chrome

Review: Hybrid V7 by Chemical Guys

Great review and I agree with your assessment. I use V7 after every wash. A little goes a long way so the $40 I spent on the gallon size was justified. My dog loves the smell of it, too. Anti chrome

The Baggie test marred my paint

Anyone else experience this? I've been meticulous in how I wash my car and it has paid off. 6 months and no swirls/marring except in a few small areas. In the process of cleaning the paint to reapply sealant I felt the paint with my bare hand it was smooth as can be. I then used the baggie...

Metro Vac N Blo or other Vac

I have a Metro and really like it. The only drawbacks are the aforementioned small bag and you can't lift liquids with it. The fact that the bag is washable is nice. Anti chrome

I have to clean the shower!

What is a common tub? I have an old porcelain tub and use really hot water and one of those green 3M scrub pads to cut the soap scum. Then I use Megs APC diluted 5:1. Does nothing for mildew/mold but really cleans the tub. Anti chrome

    Extractor

I have a Proheat and find the suction to be very poor and the brush feature utterly useless. I use a scrub brush instead. When my budget allows it will be replaced by something better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I use Pinnacle speed clay with ONR/distilled water and BF clay extender and haven't had any problems. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New Car Day! Black 2014 Mustang GT Track Pack!

I 100% agree with you on the V8/Stick combo. Until I bought my '09 Bullitt, I hadn't owned a car with a V8 in 20+ years. Small displacement imports were my thing. Until I drove a Mustang, that is. Yes, it's big but the power more than makes up for it. It's nice to have that power on tap...

New Car Day! Black 2014 Mustang GT Track Pack!

Congrats on the purchase! Track Pack is the way to go. I wanted to upgrade from an '09 to '13 or '14 but my budget won't allow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What is the best way to clean wax applicators?

I toss mine in a bucket of hot water, let the wax/sealant get soft then spray with Dawn Power Dissolver, work it in and let them sit for a few minutes. Then I use a pad brush to remove as much sealant/wax as i can and rinse them with the hottest water I can stand. I then spray with Simple Green...

Does Wax Durability Matter to You??

For my wife's car, which is a DD and sits outside 24/7 durability matters. But for my car, not so much since it's rarely driven in bad weather and sits in a heated/cooled garage 99% of the time. I would like a wheel sealant that lasts a long time. I hate cleaning wheels. Sent from my iPhone...
