New Business - Rewarding Referrals? Do you?

A simple Thank You!! Maybe next time you do their car do something extra at no charge. Most people don't want anything and are just happy to spread the word.

    Logo...how did you create yours?

You'll get plenty of ideas from messing with vista print. Once you have a color scheme/design pay a professional to tweek it. Usually most print guys will do this for free because it keeps you coming back for business cards, rack cards, EDDM. Then you must bribe them to release artwork to you.

Maybe run it through a swirl o matic since it's being corrected anyways.

Picking up a new trailer, suggestions needed!

I used a 65 gal tank. I only do a couple cars per day so I didn't need the mammoth tanks some others use.I use most customers water now.So much easier, but still have option to reinstall tank in under 15 minutes if needed. I think the ARE DCU topper would be the best route.Trailers are nice but...

Picking up a new trailer, suggestions needed!

Maybe a 4x6 open trailer with a ARE DCU topper mounted to it. You would have a low profile trailer with plenty of storage. The toppers can be found for a few hundred on CL. They are over 2k new. With a wrap and materials you should be under 2k. If in future you decide to get a truck just mount...

    Using Customers Water and Electricity

For whatever reason it's considered taboo to use customers power and water. It is nice having control over water quality during the summer but if you keep vehicle wet then no issues.I mainly do corrections so entire vehicle is polished anyways. Pressure washer is a must.

    Steamer

I have had them all.If you plan on using all day I would choose one with continuous refill . I've settled on two small units. The vapormare vapormax has 1700 watts of power and big enough to do one car for me. I also have gaia from myvapor clean.Being able to steam and vacuum at same time is...

    Any Amazon Prime members?

Amazon prime pays for itself . Unfortunately, Florida residents will have to start paying sales tax when our new hub center opens. This will likely steer a few more dollars from me to Autogeek.

    Just wash it please

I have the two basic packages and mostly do corrections. I also cut out all dealers too. It was nice having vehicles that needed done rain or shine but most dealers are cheap. Working for a large dealer in my teens really taught me how not to detail a vehicle.

    Metro BasterBlaster 665 MPH?

Awesome machine! If they could make it steer more like a dyson ball that would be great. Im currently upgrading my wheels.

    Just wash it please

I had roughly20- 30 maintenance washes at 35-50 per vehicle. Most were two car stops. So roughly $1000 a week. All vehicles required a full detail before maintenance washes began. Also every other month a coat of wax or sealent +++. After labor and cost maybe $700 left from maintenance washes. I...

    Mobile Power

I've always been a fan of extension cords. While I do have generators, I generally just plug into customers outlet.I know it's considered taboo to not have water and electric onboard but it works for me. The price of solar has come down drastically but still not where it needs to be. You can find...

    Isn't today BOGO day ???

Another lackluster bogo.I can't remember the last time something was bogo that I actually needed.I might be mistaken but wasn't it every Friday use to be a new bogo?? It's kinda like me giving away detailing supplies to freinds that I'll never use. I'm curious if the bogo are just products...

Why pro detailers don't do business with AG..

AutoGeek overall has been a pleasure to deal with over the years. As with any business there is room for improvements. I usually only make an order when there is a 20% sale or Bogo. It would be nice to take a product and put my logo on it and more then double the price.:props:

    Rupes 15 or 21

Not sure if you have considered the makita b06040? It's kinda the best of both worlds . Doesn't get the respect it deserves IMHO. There is a nice reveiw somewhere here.

    Rupes 15 or 21

With the right tools you get twice the work done in half the time.I have several other polishes collecting dust as back ups. I would keep what you have as a back up and get one or the other.

Exiting the business, selling everything, and thank you to everybody

You've priced it for a quick sale. All top notch equipment! I wouldn't be able to part with the Honda eu3000. We are in Florida.I would be all over this if I Was just starting out and was looking for a turn key business. Good luck with your career and congratulations on your graduation.:props:

    Rupes 15 or 21

I'd go for the rupes 21. I own the 15 and it's ok.Kinda like a porta cable xp. on steroids. No forced rotation. Not trying to stir pot but for corrections all day everyday the Flex really shines. Choose your poison:props:

Question on taking stripes off a car

A 3m eraser wheel does wonders on old stripes. I would say before doing anything since car is new to you make sure a lazy painter didn't try and hide a paint line under the stripe.lfso, maybe you might wanna try a diffrent color stripe Lots of good suggestions though.
