I think packages are the way to go. Most of us on here understand all the different types of detailing and could handle an a la carte type pricing structure, but probably not so much the layman.

I would start by looking what competition is out in the market already and what prices they charge. That will give you an idea of what the "going" rate is and whether that works for what you are looking for.

You don't want the customer to feel like you lured them in with $15 for a wash only to be charged $20, that's a bad place to start building a customer base. I think starting at $20-$25 is fine. Sometimes you will have an easy one, sometimes the car will be in bad shape needing additional care...
