What would you guys Charge for this Job

a rotary is a great tool, however it is more of a pro detailing tool (a lot of details or moderate per week) use the flex, if you don't like it, you can sell it (for probably what you bought it for - minus shipping).

    Claying vs. Polishing

Okay, Clay picks up stubborn MICRO dirt that gets stuck in the pores of the paint. Polishing, is the act of WEARING DOWN the unevenness in the paint and smoothening out rough edges and lines....kinda like this guy here.:buffing::buffing: It's the same when they polish your teeth at the...

    04 Beige HiMacs

big difference at all? Looks impressive, but how much of a difference does it make? We've got a lot of marble and granite counters that may need that to improve resale.

What would you guys Charge for this Job

I hate to tell you, but $300 is probably what it should cost. You used a UDM to detail the whole car, I mean it DOES THE JOB, but you should've used a rotary or at least a flex. For this to be profitable in the long run, or even on your next job, if you're using a UDM, your 16 hours divided by...

How are you guys invoicing? Computer/Paper

Ya, I understand, My quickbooks easystart lacks the ability to customize invoices, it really is quite lame actually. The only versions that do that are the pro, but the invoice I showed you, was produced with a FREE program called volutive, I can't believe HOW MUCH OF IT IS FREE, so many...

How are you guys invoicing? Computer/Paper

Hey guys, I always invoice via computer to laser printer. I don't have any hard copies which I can write in (i.e. carbon copies). So I've used a GREAT free invoicing program called Volutive. It's free and VERY customizable. It keeps records, as well as allows a lot of customization. I've...

    2001 Beetle - Mini Detail - EHUTH1

Mini detail?!!?!?!?! Okay so let me get this straight, you basically made the exterior look like new including perfecting the clearcoat, cleaning and protecting wheels and tires, and washing the rest and you call it only a MINI detail!? :P Great work as usual. Can I ask how much time for...

    D2G Detail: A College Kid's Car (OMG!!!)

Hey finally, a volvo s40 detail. I've needed to ask you, what did you do to clean up those t-tec cloth seats? I mean it's not a leather, so I don't know what to use on those seats? Also, the grout sponge, did you use it just for the wheels? And where did you pick it up? Home Depot? Last by not...

    What machine to get?

you're a newbie, save money and get the porter cable or ultimate detailing machine bundle, get the flex after you've gained some experience, then a rotary if you're completely serious about detailing.

Flex is BAD with CCS pads?

I have lots of 6.5 inch CCS pads, now there are rumors that CCS pads don't perform well with the flex, true or not true?

106, strong enough to use after SIP?

I'll preface what I'm going to say by saying I've never used the sip 106ff combo everyone talks about but: PG is a compound, or at least a heavy abrasive polish right? You've 3 stepped because Menzerna has polishes that CAN work together like a system for maximum gloss. However, 106ff is a...

one last thing, SIP on an orange pad took out the major swirls with just one pass? Because I was thinking SIP was more like a medium to medium-dark swirl remover?

    AG Detailing Bag In Action

agreed. I was really disappointed a lot by the Autogeek branded gym bag, and that's why I held off on this. But I mean I could always add this later on. Hell, I may just buy a bigger gym bag? :)

    Good Polishes with Flex 3401?

anyone brave enough to do a direct optimum vs. menzerna comparison?

    Good Polishes with Flex 3401?

I hear a lot of good things about optimum, and I'd love to know if I can "save" money by using it inplace of menzerna 106ff. If Poorboys ssr2.5 works well I'd be a happy man.

Working with ONLY a PC or UDM? How long?

Well I guess I'm humbled by al and d&d, it means a lot. Although I'd like to say that on small cars like an s2000, miata, even an old small italian alfa romeo, it works with a PC/UDM, but not for money, I mean not for a customer. That may work in my opinion for a family friend.
