Polishing over 3M Scotchcal Paint Protection Film

A good baking in the sun helps a lot. I have heard people pour heated water up to boiling on the skin. That would scare the *ahem* out of me to do that.

    Good touch up paint?

Chips or sections? I am looking at two different systems to paint mudflaps. Automotive Touch Up Paint from PaintScratch - Order Pro Grade Paint - PaintScratch.com (I hope this is ok AG admins). I have a pearl on my Fusion (White Platinum) and this is the only place that shows a base coat, mid...

Polishing over 3M Scotchcal Paint Protection Film

Do a search. Mike Phillips has a post or a video where he addresses it. The "stay safe" is don't run a polisher over it. However should you wish to gamble he goes over a plan on how to tackle it. I cant find it right now.

    NEW! Wolfgang SiO2 Paint Sealant

White Platinum Pearl (Ford tristage paint). When body shop tried to buff out poor work they scratched (buffer scratches) I could see those issues quiet clearly. So I "think" I am pretty good...but there is always that nagging thought in the back; especially when you are new at it. This car...

CR Spotless or other DI water systems

Yeah, its $$$. But my time is worth money too. To be able to rinse it off...worry much less about water spots which means less touching the paint for correction. But I am pretty good at rationalizing things!

CR Spotless or other DI water systems

I never knew such a thing existed! This is perfect to get that last rinse in with no water spots!

New Wolfgang Ceramics vs DPGS hood test!

Those pictures of the roof really kinda make you think. It also makes me realize all the different items on the shelf in your storage area!!! :-D

    NEW! Wolfgang SiO2 Paint Sealant

Oh, agreed its that "oh Ill just fix that..." type mentality. I have not had to drive to work in months so the sap and pollen and bird bombs have not been a problem this spring but I am fairly OCD and had a "process" (two bucket; limited use of rubbing the surface; drying with an aid...etc)...

    NEW! Wolfgang SiO2 Paint Sealant

Mines here! Now I need a DA (and pads and new microfibers) so I can prep correctly to use the product. I went all in on SiO2. Wash, Waterless Wash and Silica Spray. My thought is I wont have to polish/seal for a long time in between. :-)

Glaze That Hides Swirls & Protects

Along these lines I got the WGFG with the thought of using that to clean the paint up (remove the Megs Ultimate Liquid wax) after I do a clay bar. I plan then to put WGSio2 Sealant on top. Does the above jive, cause problems or do not do what I am intending. I was under the understanding the...

    Cleaning engine bay?

Urmil you got two pages (28 responses). Not sure what exactly you are looking for in a response. The orange cables are the Hybrid system. The manual says not to douse the bay with running water; post 9 by BazingerZ. Your best bet to be safe and careful is stay on top of it to the point of...

    Desperately need new microfibers ...

Thanks for the information Mike! I didn't see that one but saw your go through the towels inspection as part of your 5x minute version of "how to detail a car" (Gold SS?). I would be embarrassed to show anybody on this forum how I treated my MFT prior to seeing thoughts on this board...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

She looks great. Really wish Ford would get there head outta their rear ends and bring those to the states. I would buy one in a heartbeat but I think they are discontinued down under as well. Also glad to see you get to resume work. Stay safe!

    Desperately need new microfibers ...

I use a blower (I never turn it on before 11am) to dry. But I currently use a drying aid because I don't want to drag a towel across the finish without lubrication. So the PFM isnt usable for me given my technique. Would you just use the Eagle Edgeless for that drying aid and buff? I do...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Fellow Fusionist here (13Ti). I vote for these. As there is more "character" in the wheel design and more of a fake "lip". I run 19 X 8.5 +35 on mine with no rubbing for my summer with a 245/40R19 tire. I included a front and rear view to show basic fitment.
