    Will this combo work??

Aren't OP and PowerFinish finishing polishes? The way I read Ashpalt Rockets reply he says my plan should work I just have to follow up the yellow pad/105 combo wth white pad/105 before going to one of the polishes that I already have. Pat.

    Will this combo work??

So your saying two rounds of 105, once with yellow and then the white followed by white pad with either polish I mentioned above. Pat.

    Will this combo work??

Looking to do some more paint correction on my Rav4 this spring. I am leaning towards trying the new Megs M105 to get rid of the swirls and RIDS. I already own some OP and Menzerna Power Finish. Would either of these products be OK to clean up the marring from the 105 or would I have to purchase...

    windshield polishing?

Why don't you check out the Diamondite kits I think the pads are alot more aggressive than any paint correcting pads. You could probably do a good cleaning with current products but not sure if they would polish the glass. Pat.

    What product to get:

How about wax blaster applied with a MF towel so you only hit the areas that you want. I have read that peanut butter does have the ingredients to dissolve waxes but only the organic true peanut butter, you know the kind that separates in the jar and looks gross in your fridge. Pat.

Is this a symptom of freezing??

No I was using it in around 50 degree weather but the product was in the vehicle during the winter so with our lovely freezing temps for the last 5 months or so I am sure the product froze at some point. Pat.

    Carpets

I bought a large bottle in Amhest NY last time I was over the river. Lowes had it at $16 for 1 gallon size. Pat.

    Carpets

I tried ARO last year on my floormats and it seemed to work pretty well. Wish that stuff was available in retail stores around here. Pat.

Is this a symptom of freezing??

I was just wiping down my vehicle today with some Megs QD that I have had lying around since last year. Spray appeared fine but as I start to wipe I am getting fairly large white flecks that sort of stick to the finish. The bottle was kept in the truck over the last few months and I wonder if...

Changed my order from PC to Rotary (newbee).

WOW, I wonder why guys are scared of rotary with horror stories like that one. I am sorry but with some common sense and taking it slow like HarleyGuy mentions I don't see a huge risk in using a rotary. Just start slow and use mild products and work your way up as you get better. Pat.

    Polish for rookies??

I still have the older formulation of compound and polish. I like the long working time and the lack of dusting these products possess. I wonder if the new bottles are any better or just new packaging? Pat.

Changed my order from PC to Rotary (newbee).

I was in the same boat as you last year. I owned a UDM and really wasn't sure I wanted a rotary. A friends race car has some bad swirling and RIDS but it was aftermarket clear that was really hard. After a couple of afternoons trying to correct with compound and UDM my friend said what would...

    Polish for rookies??

Supposedly the new formulations of 105/205 are PC friendly. The new SMAT abrasives don't require breaking down which is what the PC couldn't do with the old types. Not enough friction to break them down, a rotary was preferable for that. Pat.

    Polish for rookies??

Yeah the PC is pretty safe but I find myself almost using the rotary exclusively now. The speed and the lack of vibration make it easier on my herniated disc in my back. A friend purchased the Makita for me to do his race car, really hard clear that my UDM wouldn't budge, and I find it hard to...

    Polish for rookies??

I was just thinking that my biggest concern when polishing is knowing exactly when the polish has completely broken down and continuing to buff is counter productive. Why doesn't one of the major polish manufacturers make a polish that changes colour as it breaks down. You know like starts out...

Best way to paint some RDS?

I wonder if anyone has any experience with those supposed new chip fillers that are spread over a whole section of the vehicle and then the residue is wiped off just leaving the chip filled. Is this really a permanent fix? The sellers say that you can wash after 3 days and it is buffable but I...

Best way to paint some RDS?

I have a few small scratches on the front fender area of my Black Rav4. Almost looks like someone drove through a tree or something and some branches scratched the side. No matter they appear to be through the color coat but not the primer and they are very thin. What is the best method to...

New girl from West Palm Beach

Always nice to have some girls here on the forum. Had to laugh at your statement about your family not wanting to stay long at detailfest. It would be the exact opposite for me, my wife would just stay home. She loves her nice clean car whenever she drives it but the actual process doesn't...
