    Be gone damn water spots!!!!!!!!

No problem here, no real leaf issues here and I can't see myself using the blower for anything that is not auto detail related. Pat.

    Be gone damn water spots!!!!!!!!

Yeah with the body moldings and roof rack there seems to be alot of little areas that hold mucho water. Not sure if redneck method would be totally effective on removing this water. Pat.

    Weird Spots On/In Paint

I would second the clay opinion. That looks like the classic rail dust or fallout that has rusted in the paint. Always seems to rear its ugly head on white or silver finishes. Pat.

    Be gone damn water spots!!!!!!!!

I am getting really annoyed with those lovely streaks of water that inevitably appear after I have dried my car. I usually just use two large microfiber drying towels and go over the whole truck until I see no more water on the finish. Of course, the minute I move the vehicle to finish dressing...

Tips for swirl removal on black car

I would like to add PB's Black Hole Glaze into this conversation. Does a nice job off adding some depth to a black finish after you have removed the swirls. Pat.

uh-oh... weather dosn't look good for saturday

You guys make me sick with your mid 70's weather in March. Our forecast calls for snow tomorrow. Heck we've been ecstatic with our mid 50's the last three days. I hope you all have a good time at detailfest and I wish I could be there to see all the nice work. The learning aspect would be nice...

    Sandblasted Looking Paint

Got the same deal on the lower section of the rear doors on my Rav4. Factory puts a small piece of glued on plastic to try and combat the problem. Way too small though since the whole area that flares back out gets pelted by salt spray and crap all winter long. I am considering taking it to one...

    Rotary polishing small areas???

Hey guys how do you use a rotary to polish smaller areas of a vehicle? Like say the upper door frame area where its just a couple of inches of painted metal. I usually go both back and forth and up and down on most areas but that seems impractical on such a thin area of paint. Do I just go back...

Newbie with detailing questions. Swirls specifically

Well Eddie I guess you should let us know exactly what tools you have at your disposal. Paint correction can be done by hand but a PC or even better a rotary will be way faster and give a better finish. If you are starting from scratch why not try one of the polishing kits and a PC and go from...

Can swirl marks be polish out by hand?

I would also be worried about introducing new marks from uneven pressure or incomplete breakdown of the polish. It would be very difficult to breakdown a polish by hand.

    Musty smell??

Replaced cabin air filter today. I wil see if its helps. I do believe it is the water entrapped in the carpet from our long crappy winter that is causing the problem though. I will have to wait until some warm weather to give it a good cleaning and drying out. Do you think this is possible...

    Musty smell??

Cabin air filter still original. Would that be an issue? It certainly seems like its originating from the carpet as the heater warms up the car it unfreezes the damp carpet and the musky smell appears. Pat.

    Musty smell??

Wifes Rav4 that I like to keep clean. Of course living in Canada means 6 months of winter where outside cleaning is virtually impossible. Starting to notice a musty smell when the heater is on, and I assume its the water that has missed the rubber mats and settled in the carpet around the...

    Clear Bra installed ??

Have the clear bra on 06 Rav4 since new 2 and 1/2 years ago. No issues with yellowing or rock chips going through the film. Highway driven by my wife everyday and she likes to tailgate. Wish I had done the whole front end and not just the leading edges of the fenders and the hood. Pat.

    Removing runs in clear??

Freshly painted Boss 302 Mustang being turned into a road race car. Body shop left a couple of good size runs in the clear. What is the preferred method to remove these. I am guessing sand flush and then compound and polish but what grade of paper would I start with. I know 2000 would be the...

How do I protect this item??

I may try the sealant idea. Paint would be wonderful but I bet you that removal is a PITA. It appears that the attachment point is well back from the exposed area so seat and carpet would probably have to come out. Pat.

do you guys still eat out?? with no extra money?

Ate out everyday for the last two weeks. Disney vacation that included free dining plan. Thank God, our only out of pocket expense was the tip and at some of the finer restaurants that was like $30 bucks tip for two adults and a 4yr old. Couldn't afford those places if we had to pay the full...

How do I protect this item??

I know this may sound anal but its drives me nuts!!!! The lovely japanese lever for the gas tank door is bare steel and it has no protection except for the little plastic cover on the very tip to denote gas filler door. Since we deal with bad weather up here involving salt on our roads this...
