How long does wax stay on

Funny thing is sometimes those cars that are only washed once or twice a year have less swirling and marring once the car is washed. Yeah they look like crap 98% of the time but for one or two days a year they look excellent. Pat.

IMAGE Auto Detail- Week in review

A table lift is like a regular hoist only you drive on to the raising pad so you can't remove the wheels while the car is in the air. Cheaper and easier to install than a regular full boogy hoist. Pat.

advice on detailing a Lexus GS 99 Black

Wow thats a pretty broad question. Do you have any detailing products already? Any machine for polishing? What shape is the finish in currently? Some pics of its current condition would really help gauge what type of products are suitable. As a general rule I would think one of the kits that...

How long does wax stay on

I would say those conditions would really lengthen the staying power of any type of paint protectant. I think the less actual washing, and the aggressiveness of the soap used would be a big factor as well. Pat.

    Removing Dealer Sticker

Usually a bit of heat will allow the adhesive to soften enough for easy removal. Hair dryer not hot enough, you usually require one of those heat guns for paint removal. Be careful though, just apply enough heat until you can feel the emblem loosening. Do not cook your car. Pat.

Pads, Compound, and Polish to use with Rotary...

Not to hijack this thread but I have a few of the 6.5inch CCS pads for my UDM. Can I try those on the backing plate that came with my Makita 9227C. It also 6.5 inch. Or do I have to have a slightly smaller BP than pad for safety sake? Pat.

Just received and used Cam Spray foam gun

I always assumed you would have to physically remove the dirt even with the foam gun. The advantage of the foam gun is to evenly disribute a nice lubricating medium to remove the dirt with while minimizing any marring which may occur. I was always under the impression that actually powerwashing...

    Product review...OTC vs. Boutique

Spray head came with the product so I just mist it on microfibre mitt or towel and wipe it on. I know that I used to use way too much when I first got the product last year. I bet I could get two years out of a bottle now. Pat.

    Poorboy's world & rotary

I would think that you would have a harder time with foam pads on a hot surface than wool. Paint seems to get more grabby as it heats up and that combo would seem like alot to have good control over the buffer. Please let us know how you make out, I would be very interested in your results. I am...

    Product review...OTC vs. Boutique

I should give that 303 a try Bryan. I see alot of good reviews on that product. I guess theres a reason its twice as expensive as good ole ArmorAll eh. I cringe when I see that ArmorAll look all over an interior. Pat.

    Product review...OTC vs. Boutique

I am just a rookie who likes to keep his vehicle clean. I have learned alot on these forums and I would like to give back some info that I just discovered myself. Always see lots of questions on this site concerning what type of product to use to detail interior plastics. Since 90% of our time...

    Ice cream stain??

My lovely wife dropped some McDonald's ice cream on the driver's seat of our SUV. It was vanilla so no real stain but even after some OTC fabric cleaner you can still see the faint outline of the stain. I am assuming its the oil base that they make their fake ice cream out of. Is there anyway to...

    First try with Makita 9227C

Drag race car owned by a friend. Originally painted like 6 years ago. Never gets washed really since most of its life is in the shop or the trailer. QD on a rag once in awhile to remove the dust. Many swirls and scratches from being leaned on while doing maintenance or other race car chores...

    Flat or not for rotary??

I was using minimal amount of polish so I would be leaning towards too dry. Very different animal with the foam vs. the wool though. Pat.
