    Vehicle Maintenance Schedule

I started an "annual" package this spring for a couple customers. Full detail in and out in the spring. Full wheel detail in the summer with wash, spray wax/sealant, and interior touch-up. Then heavy wash, spot buff, and winter wax in the fall with another interior touch-up. Then I had...

    Help with Coffee Stain

I haven't had much trouble with coffee stains using my little bissell. They have come out with CG Fabric Clean and CG Lightning Fast. I would definitely recommend dropping $100 to get one of those little machines. They are great for little messes around the house too. Invaluable whether you...

    Bissell Little Green Carpet Cleaner

I will 3rd the comments regarding using only hot water in the tank. I will wet the carpet then spray with my cleaner. Let sit a minute or so, then scrub with upholstery brush. Then use the hot water in the tank to extract the cleaner/dirt. One tip, have a 5 gallon bucket nearby to empty the...

    BMW Jet Black- Sigh

I did an e90 about a month ago. Used Menz PF2500 and white polishing pad on GG6. Did not get rid of the deeper rids but did remove the swirls and holograms from previous detailers. From what I read beforehand, the e92 (coupe) is the real pain.

How to wash pad covered in wax?

I will usually spray it down with undiluted D101 and let sit for a few minutes then rinse out best as possible. Then just let dry and put in a ziploc bag after a few days and label the bag with the type of product so that pad is now dedicated to that product. Same with sealant.

    Starting LLC process today

Did he file an S-Corp election for the LLC? If not, I recommend doing so. I did the S-Corp filing for my LLC (non-detailing business). Here is an article that might help with your decision. Biggest selling point is passing through some portion of the business income with no self-employment...

    3" Plate on GG 6"?

Agree. I stick with the 4 inch pads on 3.5 inch backing plate. The only time I use my 3 inch backing plate is with the 3 inch Megs MF pads. My philosophy is if I can't get to it with the 4" pad (because of the large shroud on the GG6 or otherwise), I do it by hand. :xyxthumbs: I will also...

Recommendations - New Tires in 2015

Maybe I'll have to look into these (DWS06) when I replace the stock Michelins on my 2013 Accord.

Recommendations - New Tires in 2015

Same here on my daughters car (03 Accord V6). They are a little noisy (so we differ a little there), but its a fair trade-off for the traction in all weather and a long tread life (I believe they are 800 tread life?). I am looking at TrueContact's for my CRV this fall. I use the tirerack...

    Polishing under door handles

I will typically use a polishing finger pocket (the green one) with ScratchX 2.0. If there are really heavy fingernail scratches, this will usually get out maybe 85-90%. You could also use Ultimate Compound or M105. After sealant cures, you could then add some wax to help fill in anything...

    cleaning tires - rims plasti-dipped

Sorry for the bump, I'm doing the wheels/tires later today, so hoping for some input. Thanks everyone!

    cleaning tires - rims plasti-dipped

So I've checked out a bunch of threads on how to clean plasti-dipped rims. Have my first detail in with PD. I think I am just going to go the IronX route to clean them and use my carrand body brush with the soft flagged bristles on the outer rim. Doesn't look like the barrels are PD'd, so I...

How to do high quality production detailing - Your largest market!

Here's the results I got on one of the bed cover panels today on an Avalanche I just happen to have in for a detail (all 3 came out this good). Process: 1) D101 @ 1:10 sprayed liberally over panel and let soak for about 1 minute 2) GG6 with cyclo aqua brush on speed 2 3) 6 section passes in...

How to do high quality production detailing - Your largest market!

Great timing on this, thanks Mike! I just happen to have an Avalanche in for full detail right now. Luckily it is an LTZ, so no lower cladding, just the stuff around the box. We have a local detail shop that sells cyclo brushes, so I may pick up the grey one to do the plastic around the box...

    Interiors: APC vs Dedicated Cleaner

I use APC on interior plastics only. And I dilute 1:10. For leather I use a dedicated leather cleaner. For carpets/upholstery I use CG Lightning Fast with an upholstery brush and rinse well with just hot water in a bissell. For carpeted mats with rubber backing, I'll use CG Fabric Clean...

    Static clings

Same, after 303 or Blackfire Interior Protectant, I don't get much immediate dust. I can wipe it down with a dry MF every couple weeks and it stays looking great.

    How do you relax .......

virtually any Speyside single-malt scotch or a good Kentucky bourbon. In the summer it is mostly Bud heavy though. I drink my whiskey neat, so it's more of a winter drink for me.

    Question about Blackfire AIO

Definitely don't use too much so that you have to buff off much excess. It is very sticky, typical of many AIO's. Keep it @ speed 4 on like a GG6 using very little on the pad - 4 to 5 tiny dots, not even pea size. Then work your area until it disappears.

    Nanoskin Mitt How Sticky

It is very sticky which is why you want lots of lube when using. I rinse mine real good after every panel and it is really sticky with just water. Also very sticky after it dries. I store mine in the plastic thing it came in...remove the paper part first of course.
