Caught in the rain - What to do?

Yeah. Won't be able to wash for a few more days. In the middle of moving into a new house. Thanks for the input. Will leave it be until a proper wash can he arranged.

Caught in the rain - What to do?

Yesterday I got caught out in the rain. When I got home the car was soaked. I hadn't washed my car recently so it was pretty dirty. I was debating what would be the best method for drying in this state. Blot dry with a towel or just let bit air dry. I was worried the air drying would leave...

    5 NEW Microfiber Towels!

Buying towels can be such a crap shoot. I've ordered a few through a few different sites including AG, CarPro and and Autoobsessed. See which feel/fit the best and go from there.

    Shipping Rates to Canada

I am aware of the disclaimer. You are missing the fundamental point. Don't offer something you can't deliver. Most orders over $500 are going to be heavy and so you'll charge more. I would challenge that if a review was done on orders to Canada over $500 very few, if any at all, would be at...

    Shipping Rates to Canada

Move to the USA - Classic. Or how about AG honours their rates? Or, get rid of them all together and just do a shipping quote per weight on every order, at least then it would be honest and not misleading.

    Shipping Rates to Canada

I recently placed a fairly large order - around $750 worth of products. I went forward with the order based on the flat rate shipping costs shown on the website to Canada. I was a little surprised when the shipping costs were then double for my order. I questioned what the point of flat rate...

    Microfiber Towels - How many?

Thanks. And yes this is just for personal use, not a business. Would want to get enough to cover off our two vehicles if I was to do them back to back over the course of a couple of days. I almost went all CG towels but the shipping was more than the order to Canada - shut that idea down...

    Microfiber Towels - How many?

I am racking my brain trying to determine how many towels and what types I should be purchasing. I am checking a bunch of different sites with different options and am just confusing the issue. I know this will be very subjective, but what I want to do with them is the following: - General...

Touch up before or after polishing

Is it preferable to do a touch up on a chip before or after doing a paint correction? I have not decided if I will be doing a basic Dr. Colorchip or a more in depth method such as this: Paint Chip Touch-up -- /DRIVE CLEAN - YouTube If I go route 2 then I'll need to polish out the sanding...

Response I got from a detailer

Yeah I've moved on from that installer completely. Really turned off by his response. I've found a few more that are about the same distance away that seem to be a bit more upfront and knowledgable.

    Glaze before Coating?

Thanks. I've seen a video of the spray method, seems like a good idea for the reasons you stated.

Response I got from a detailer

So I contacted a detail shop who also does PPF installs. As part of the install process he includes a paint prep with a finishing polish before the PPF and then applies GTechniq on top. He is an authorized installer for Gtechniq, only one in the area. I mentioned to him that the car would be...

    Glaze before Coating?

I think I already know the answer to this but never hurts to ask. So, in preparation for a coating application you polish your paint removing as many defects as possible. You then clean your paint off using a IPA/Cleaning solution to promote bonding of the coating. It would mean then...

    Coatings on Carbon Fiber Pieces

Cheers, and yeah it is a BE GT-R. I might pick a spot on the rear diffuser under neath and go from there.

    Coatings on Carbon Fiber Pieces

Hey, I am going to be applying a coating to my car this Spring. Not sure which one exactly yet, still researching a bit, but I am trying to determine if they can be applied over dry carbon fiber pieces. I have a few on my car, some on the bumper, the diffuser and spoiler. I don't want to...

2010 Nissan GT-R (Full Paint Correction + Cquartz)

I can say there is some orange peel on my 2014, not as bad as some cars I've owned my Supra comes to mind as being 'worse' but the Baltic Blue really showed it. I'm not comfortable with wet sanding at all so unless I take it to someone to do it will just have to stay there :(

Studying this and a few other GTR corrections in prep for my own in March. Trying to see what works well and the products used. This one was fantastic!
