    Sneak Peek! - New Polisher!

I had a long conversation with the designer from Rupes and told him they should be making that machine for detailing. He's very knowledgeable, professional and genuinely interested so the conversation was both informative and pleasant. I advocated strongly for a forced rotation with orbit...

    Sneak Peek! - New Polisher!

First, nice work on the business name. Second, I'm not as sure as you about the machine spinning the same direction as our rotary polishers because: If it did, I don't think we'd be seeing radio silence on the issue. And, the way the backing plate attaches to the machine suggests a counter...

    Sneak Peek! - New Polisher!

Here's my prediction. It'll be the Makita PO5000C. Because it has 780 rpms with orbits - it'll be faster than the BO6040 and share the BO6040's ability to get right up to the edge without requiring tape or changing to another machine. It still won't be as fast as using a rotary polisher...

    Sneak Peek! - New Polisher!

kkritsilas, Anytime you're in the S.Cal area and would like to see how I run a rotary I'd be happy to show you. I've taught a lot of people and my method for teaching is really safe and stress free and if you want to learn how to use one, I can teach you enough in a couple of hours for you to...

Any advice on cleaning / polishing aluminium ?

I'm sure it looks great. Using something down and dirty for the first pass then going over it with the Autosol might have been faster. RSW

Any advice on cleaning / polishing aluminium ?

Wizard's comes in smaller sizes, I just wanted to emphasize - cheap, lol. For the first pass at least. RSW

Any advice on cleaning / polishing aluminium ?

That's great stuff. I'd use it after I got the majority polished with something cheaper. Have you tried it using a webril wipe? RSW

Any advice on cleaning / polishing aluminium ?

For that, I'd find a metal polish in a quart bottle, Wizard's would be my first choice. I'd wash with soap and water, rinse, dry but not well then apply the polish liberally with a sponge. Rubbing back and forth the direction of the groves or use an cotton terry cloth with the same movement...

Kinda flustered after doing the 2 mechanical decons today...advice

I use a nanoskin towel but I wrap it around a big grout sponge I've cut a diamond pattern into. That gets more of the towel in contact with the paint and stops the marring from the pressure points created by the bones my hand. I use Dawn for the lube and it provides enough lubrication and...

Okay..its 1pm..just got done with iron x...question pls

If I got this right, you're using Iron X first, then the nanoskin. I do things a little differently. I wash and rinse the car. Then I re-soap with using a sprayer. Then, I use the nanoskin towel but I wrap it around a large sponge I've cut a diamond pattern into. The diamonds are about a...

    Sneak Peek! - New Polisher!

kkritsilas, I can run all the machines I've mentioned without any problems and I've been a pro since 1980. There are very good reasons for learning to use a rotary having to do with not just speed but over all quality. I really hope this new Makita will be the bridge for people between the...

    Sneak Peek! - New Polisher!

Like I said in my post, if the PO5000C spins the same direction as rotary it will have the same basic feel as a rotary but without being as aggressive/dangerous. So, a person could learn to run a random orbital - any machine with a free floating backing plate - then, move to the orbit with...

    Sneak Peek! - New Polisher!

I hope it's the PO5000. But here's the thing. If they'e made the forced rotation with elliptical movement the same as the rotary, people who already run a rotary will able to pick it up and kill swirls and do light/medium correction with no learning curve at all. The other Makita, the...
