Now I've used Mothers on some various metals but it specifically says NOT to use it on chrome, does it not?

I use 303 protectant regularly on my Yamaha seat. Its not the most aggressive cleaner but for my application works well and offers nice protection. I wipe it on then buff it a little with a dry MF towel and that pretty much ensures its not to slick.

I use simple green on tires with good results. Mixed results on wheels but its mild enough that you don't really risk damaging anything.
