    Is this car detailable??

It looks like many cars here in the NW. When I parked my ford explorer in the drive way for a year, it started to grow green and black mold/fungus, but it cleaned up just fine. Its a constant battle to keep that stuff from growing on a houses siding too.

    3" companion for a G15

I have a Flex 3401 and I recently got a GG 3" to do all the small hard to reach spots. I like the GG 3" and it seems to work very well for polishing the hard to get areas. As far as corrections, the GG did not do as much correction as the forced flex. But the GG 3" did make a big improvement...

    More aggressive compound or pad?

It sounds like you are going to end up with a very nice looking car. I am new to this too and I polished my car months ago and it looked better. Then I polished it a couple weeks ago using the same pinnacle polishes and pads and polisher I used months ago, and wow the second polishing really...

    Guzzlers drying towel

Really? I washed my MF with the wash liquid purchased from AG in warm/cold water and then air dried them in the dryer for a few hours with zero heat. No other towels were in the washer or dryer with the MF. I am very careful with the MF's and fold them all in to neat stacks and put them in a...

    Car Cover Question

Any car you keep outside and not under cover must require a good amount of attention to keep it nice looking. Where I live moss and other things started to grow on the car I left outside and uncovered. A small amount of dust from a car cover seems like a good trade off to what happens per my...

    Survivor - 1974 BMW 2002 - Beautiful Once Again

So far 4 of the 6 cars I have polished have been old single stage paint. I do see a good amount of color transferred no matter if I hand or machine polished and so far I have not hit any thin spots in the paint. I do think it's easier to polish and wax clear coats from my limited experience...

    Car Cover Question

Thanks Setec. This was the most weather/water/UV resistant cover that Noah made per the charts and was said to be one of the best generally available covers. That makes sense about breathability and fine dust getting in. I was wanting to confirm if this was normal or not and it looks like it...

    Car Cover Question

Hi All, I don't have a large garage so I have to keep a few of my cars under car covers. The cars I put covers on that are then stored under a deck in the area that is mostly dry and these cars look fine when I uncover them to take them out. The wax and polish jobs still look great. However...

    can I afford life

For sure look in to community college and taking credits that transfer. It's a great way to get started in school and is less expensive than a 4 year university right away. It took me 4 years after high school to figure out what I wanted to go to school for and working in construction for those...

    1st "bad" Customer

I think this was why you were hired too. A car that was neglected for years and who's owners still have the McD eating/spilling kids don't seem like people who would spend $ for a one time detail. Also in every area there are people who are sneaky and try at every turn to get things free or at...

Original Single Stage Paint - Before and After

Thanks! That is my goal. I like stock and original cars and making them look as good and often better than when they left the factory is my thing. A car is only original once and when a change is made that cannot be undone, the originality is gone. The Red Bug I posted before and after...

Original Single Stage Paint - Before and After

I used a Flex3401 and a GG 3.5" orbital polisher with Orange, White, and Blue LC pads using Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover, Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish, and Pinnacle Sovereign liquid wax. I spent several days working on the Notchback and had not yet read about the Meguires #7 and...

    Help Replacing Pads

I am new to polishing and sure I started with some bad techniques, but the LC 6.5" pads I have used for well over a year on 5 cars are all in great shape except for some staining. All on a flex 3401. Not sure if this relates to your issues and I do think the hooks of your Velcro on your...

    Guzzlers drying towel

I got a guzzler several months ago and forgot about it as I have my reliable real shammy and a cool soft rubber scraper thing for water removal on flat spots. When I came across the guzzler last month and took it out and used it, I was very impressed! The guzzler is far better than a shammy...

2 1965 VW Bugs in storage. One is the Red Bug I posted pictures of in the before and after post and the other is a Sea Blue bug I restored at home and was selected to be on display in the LeMay museum in Tacoma. I did not do the painting on the restoration but I had it painted with single stage pain

1965 VW Notchback and VW Bug in the Garage

Very stock 1965 VW Notchback S originally purchased in Germany. These were never sold in the US. The first owner and his wife purchased it on a trip to Germany and drove it around Europe and shopped it home to the US when they returned. Original Paint. I am the second owner as of 2014. The VW Bug
