1970 Ford Single Stage Paint Restoration

Cool, I have a Gallery! I will upload some pictures soon. Thanks again for the advice and that makes sense about the paint being harder so less comes off. I will hold off on the #7 for now since it is all polished and waxed but I want to try it soon. I need to final wax the notchback today...

1970 Ford Single Stage Paint Restoration

Thanks again Mike! The color; It is that brownish/beige sort of color, like a grand parents car would look. I read thru the picture resizing and posting tips and will start to post pictures too. I know that makes things clearer and easier to provide answers to questions. I attached a small pic...

1970 Ford Single Stage Paint Restoration

I was not using the forum here much before I polished a 1962 Ford Fairlane with its original paint. It was a one owner car and I was told the by the owners son that the car was well taken care of, and it is in very good shape. I already clayed the car and used Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover...

How many of you use a MACHINE to WAX your vehicle?

I have used a machine since I got one to apply the wax. It just saves so much time, I'm not retired yet! I still do small sections on the paint that may need more attention by hand, and the areas the machine can't get to I do by hand too, and I remove all products by hand.

Is it Flex and then everything else?

Lots of great info about the different polishing machines available. I have a Flex3401 and when I had used it only 3-4 times I would have said it was the only polisher most people would need, and don't waste time with any polisher that is not forced rotation. Now after a year and after...

Mike Phillips' New Show on Velocity - Competition Ready + FREE SHIPPING NO MINIMUM!

Cool, I'm looking forward to the show. Congratulations too. What ever happened to Mikes other show where he would detail a car during the 30 minute show and show average people how the products worked? From all the videos and segments I have seen Mike do, my guess is the show will be very...

How many pads do I need to buff out my car?

Great Info and I had wondered how often if at all the pads should be changed when polishing/waxing. One only for waxing makes sense and I dedicated a pad for all wax jobs because cleaning wax out of the pad, even with pad cleaner, was not possible. I guess I better add a bucket load of pads...

Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion Leaving Light Haze

Thanks Mike and others, for all the great information. I can't believe you posted to answer my question, that's pretty cool. That is pretty much the question I was looking to answer besides about the hazing I was seeing. Yep, the finish is very good after the Pinnacle Advanced Finishing...

Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion Leaving Light Haze

Thanks All and Nick, The thing is different places like in the videos Mike made and in the product details there is conflicting information about letting the product sit and dry before removing while others say remove it right away. That's why I posted, to see if I was doing it wrong. I...

Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion Leaving Light Haze

That was my thought too and why I posted to see how others did with the product. Yes, you really had to look hard at specific angles to see the residue/holograms. I did not see any major differences on the non swirl areas compared to the areas I did not use the PCL on, so as mentioned and I...

Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion Leaving Light Haze

Hello, I have use the Pinnacle advanced swirl remover, finishing polish, and sovereign wax and had great results (see my 1965 Red VW Bug before and after pictures). Now I am using the same products on a 1965 VW Notchback that has its original paint, and the products mentioned above have done a...

Before and After - 1965 VW Bug

Thanks again for the nice comments. That was the 3rd car I did with the flex. The other two cars turned out well too, one is a 1965 VW Notchback with original paint and a 2013 Black Volvo that I removed the swirls from. I did use the flex to wax a Sea Blue 65 VW Bug that was the family car I...

Before and After - 1965 VW Bug

Thanks for the nice comments. My photoshop skills were off the day I doctored those, haha. My wife said it looks brand new to her when she first saw it and I didn't expect to see results like I ended up with either. Here's a link to more before and after pictures, and you can see it is the...

Before and After - 1965 VW Bug

Hi All, This is my Bug that I got a few years ago. It had been reprinted with the red color and is a base/clear coat respray. The Bug sat in the sun for a few years before I got it. I washed it and then clayed it. Then I used a Flex random orbital polisher with; Pinnacle Advanced Swirl...

    Hello from the NW

Thanks Bobbyg, That would have saved me a few weeks reading and learning if I found it last year! I'm glad to see that is pretty much my system and how I used the pads, and I appreciate the product recommendations and will try some. I got a sample of Black WOW for restoring black trim and I...
