    Books

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values by Robert M. Persig One of the more enjoyable insightful reads that I can recall. Very good book. For lighter reading, I like espionage/counter-terrorism thrill rides, Vince Flynn's novels (there's 13 of them) are some of the...

NEW! DP Paint, Wheel, & Glass Coatings + Coating Prep Polish!

Wow, between the coating prep polish, the user friendliness of the coatings, and the fact that they're designed to work with other LSPs... I'd say it's finally time to take a dive into the coating market.

    What's wrong with this Paint?

I'm no expert by any means, but from what I've seen on AG, that looks like CC failure.

    What are you listening to...?

Unbelievable. First time I ever open this thread and I find this. :props: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjYfA5b7zW4]Mammoth Grinder - Surveilled - YouTube[/video]

    UWW+ streaking

Even though you were working in the garage, were the panels hot/warm to the touch? I've noticed panel temp plays a large role in products' behavior. Also, like Radarryan suggested, make sure you're using distilled water, world of difference, I know.

    Meguiars foam applicator pads

I've noticed this as well, it's also a hollow pad compared to a single foam structure pad as the ones sold individually are. Still great pads, the Meguiar's Soft Buff Pads are nearly identical to the Pinnacle pads, only with a Meg's logo on one side, which could be perceived as a setback or a...

    Any East Tennessee members?

I don't think he posts here anymore, pretty sure he had a few write ups, but one guy out of Knoxville was featured in DuPont registry, Tru Shine Detailing I think.

SON1C Synopsis 47 : Dodo Juice - Rainforest Rub Wax Review

Nice review, got me to wash my car and put a coat on, first time using a Dodo wax, I think I overloaded the applicator because 1.) it would NOT stop spreading 2.) areas where I first applied the applicator were more difficult to remove than areas that I hit last. Great wax though, pleasure to...

Nooks & Crannies: How do you handle them?

I'm talking about the tiniest ones, ones that your brush or slim vacuum attachment won't get to, ones that a q-tip (or 500) just simply won't cut it. Be it vinyl or carpet, a wedge in the center console or gear shifter, or a nook between the seats that almost nothing can access. What are your...

    Black Diamond Sealant

I've had 4 months off of 1 coat, 6 months and counting off of 2 coats. Granted, it's touched up with UQW every other wash or 2, but still, great looks, great ease of use, great durability. Love this stuff.

After Polish, best advice for my bad habits?

Claying shouldn't take 12 hours, even for a Tahoe, unless it's been baking in bird doo doo, pollen and fallout for years on end and even then, I'd say 4 hours maximum (that's worst case scenario, the whole car could be done in up to an hour alone, you won't know until you try it). You could...

After Polish, best advice for my bad habits?

For the best results, try and coordinate the days that you polish and protect the paint with a sealant/wax coating. You could, in theory, clay it one weekend, polish the next (after a good wash), and then wash it again the next weekend and seal it then. However, this poses many issues, such as...

    Do you use the apron?

Gloves primarily serve the benefit of not getting chemicals (particularly degreasers, APC, aggressive chemicals) on your hands for prolonged periods of time. Also great for preventing your hands from stinking like whatever product you're working with (particularly polishes/compounds, especially...

Saw this in my FB newsfeed

I'm right there with you Mike, necessity washing is, well, a necessity. We had 10 days of rain forecasted ahead of us and it had already been 8-10 days since the cars were last washed, so I weigh biting the bullet, getting the grime off, feeling better, or going the lazy route and cleaning it...

    Not entirely satisfied

Could it be some remaining hazing from the 105 that you weren't able to get out with M205? It could just be the quality of the pics.
