    No lying. Let's be honest.

That's why people buy work platforms. If I, as an enthusiast, can polish out a ridged Honda Pilot roof top for my first panel ever after my first test spot ever, while using a 10 year old flimsy step ladder, then I don't see why the detailers who are being PAID to clean/correct/protect the...

Need to stop with set prices

I've seen numerous people work around this by placing vehicles into 3 basic size categories and charging accordingly. cars trucks/SUVs minivans Like you said, this addresses getting paid for 2 hours of work when you're doing a soiled minvan or SUV that takes 3 or more. As for charging...

    Sealant help

Good catch, not sure how I missed that. You'll DEFINITELY want to use M105 before M205. M105 is a compound, it has more cut and will remove heavier defects more quickly, but because of it's nature, can, or most likely will, leave hazing and micro-marring behind. M205 is a polish, it has...

    Sealant help

After using 105 and then 205, you'd be best off performing an IPA wipedown. I'll link to a thread further down this post but essentially you are removing any and all oils & residue left on the surface of the paint after polishing. Heed caution though, you just spent so many hours correcting the...

    Sprint or Verizon?

*With a 2 year contract, and you'll want to insure your device as well, because replacing them ain't cheap when you're on Verizon.

    Sprint or Verizon?

Verizon's coverage is hard to beat, and having been with them for 7 years now, I can only recall 3, maybe 4 instances where service was out for for an hour or so, and it was usually at odd hours of the night/morning. That being said, Verizon plans are expensive, particularly the smart phone...

Mike Phillips VIF or Vehicle Inspection Form

Is there any particular reason the updated VIF isn't hosted on a site like dropbox or mediafire for all to download? I only ask because I'd be willing to do so so that Mike, Evan.J and others (bless their souls) don't have to keep checking the topic and sending it every time somebody else can't...

Product recommendations for production shop please!

For tight trim places 1"-2" foam brushes (the kind on sticks with the rectangular foam-heads) are dirt cheap and hard to beat as far as getting into the corners. For regular applicators most major online car care distributors sell tire and foam applicators in bulk, AG actually has some good...

    Meg's wheel brightener???

A few members have stated that the most powerful wheel cleaner AG carries is Poorboy’s World Spray and Rinse Wheel Cleaner 1 Gallon, even more so than Meg's D140. Haven't used it myself but that's a hefty claim worth investigating in your situation.

    Microfiber detailing towels

versus... Not quite. The Walmart/Target/over-the-counter microfiber towels are great for the nasty jobs, but I would never ever use them on paint.

    Is claying necessary?

If the vehicle has never been clayed before, you'll want to clay it. Trust me, you'll have contaminates, airborne particles ranging from dust to pollen to iron fallout will find it's way to your car's finish, and it's best to remove these contaminates as thoroughly as possible before you begin...

    Collinite 845 finished

Collinite 845 is supposed to have much greater durability than NXT 2.0, correct me if I'm wrong but did you not just say you topped NXT 2.0 with 845? Also, Menzerna Powerlock is not a polish but a paint sealant.
