What am I doing wrong? Foam pad damage related

In the past, I have seen several users (on other forums) refer to the Hydrotech pads as Hydro-shred pads. Apparently, they have (or had) a bit of a reputation for coming apart. Not sure if Lake Country ever addressed the problem or not. I've never experienced the problem and am only sharing this...

What am I doing wrong? Foam pad damage related

This seems to happen more often when the backing material does not extend to the edge of the pad (which appears to be the case on your pads)...... and/or if your backing plate extends beyond the backing material because the plate chews into the foam. What brand of pad is that?

    Oooops....wrong bottle !!

Pulled out a few quick detail products yesterday and went to work refreshing the appearance on my car. I was using Meg’s Quick Wax (great stuff), Meg’s Ultimate Protectant, and Meg’s Endurance Shine for the tires. Got done with one side of the car and started on the rear decklid. All of a...

    Rinseless Wash & Road Salt?

I live in Michigan and we have had plenty of salt thrown down on the roads this year. I have been using ONRWW. Before I wash, I use a spray bottle and spray a moderate amount of diluted ONRWW on the body panels. Then, out of a bucket, I use thick microfiber towels heavily saturated with the...

LOL !!!! Now all you need is a nice big tub that you could fill up with 2.0 so that you could just dunk your cars right in.

My first full detail ( 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara)

I own the Harbor Freight DA. So far, it’s been a great tool. In fact, I was using it again last night with some low profile 5.5” and 4” Lake Country pads. The thing I like about it is I can bear down on it pretty good and the pad keeps rotating. It seems to have a good amount of power and I am...

Yes, that is a 1976 Trans Am. Has been in the family since 1983. It has 51,xxx miles on it and with the exception of a few items, is all stock and original. I've been a chrome Cragar guy since high school so that's a big reason you see those wheels on there. Car is an auto, 400ci, A/C, pw, pl...

I get wiped out doing a one-step with a DA. I can't imagine doing everything you did by hand. Hats off to you, bud. Yeah, get yourself a DA....you don't know what you're missing :D Looks like your Jeep came out very nice !!! You did a ton of work so hope you're pleased.

Anyone tried the Chicago Electric Platinum 6" DA from Harbor Freight

The HF pads are actually a decent pad except the velcro material on the back of them does not extend to the edge. What happens then is the backing plate will come into contact with the foam part of pad on the backside when you are moving over a rounded panel and the pad starts to come apart. I...

    A new Collinte fan

At first, I thought maybe I was impressed because I had just polished the side of my wife's white van with the M205 and happened to put the Collinite on a fresh clean surface. That's what made me try it on my black Taurus....I wanted to see if I would be equally impressed .....and I was. It's...

Anyone tried the Chicago Electric Platinum 6" DA from Harbor Freight

I own the Harbor Freight DA. I have already put a lot of hours on it and have no complaints. I use the Lake Country 5.5" low profile pads and get excellent correction results. It has plenty of power. Look for a coupon. You can probably find one that will give you 10% or 20% off.

    A new Collinte fan

I was finally able to take the 845 Insulator Wax for a test drive this past weekend. I polished the passenger side of my wife’s white 2010 Town & Country with M205 and then applied the 845. I was really pleased with how glossy and wet the paint looked. I was also able to apply a full coat to my...

CONFUSED - Induced Holograms With A DA?!?!

Where does the owner of the vehicle work?....is it near or at an industrial site of some sort? Is it possible the vehicle is getting misted with a layer of ferrous soot or some other foreign substance? I dunno but it almost sounds like there might be something within the very top surface of the...

    The Cliff

This is the part that most Americans do not understand or willfully dismiss because the enormity of it happening is too great. There is an element of "it can't happen to us" falsely ingrained into our reasoning. We are very near to the "point of no return" and yet, sadly, the way out is quite...

    The Cliff

Our politicians and many of our citizens no longer care if we are a light to the rest the world nor do they understand how to shine even if they wanted to. There was once a collective understanding of what “greatness” was and what it looked like but now the U.S.A. is suffering because of too...
