Trust me, soap did help, but so did some strategic razor blade cutting. The replacement cord i used was significantly thicker thus it put much more pressure in places the thinner cord didnt. But i got it and it works now. New cord has a 3 year warranty so we will see.

i just re-corded an extra polisher with 14 gauge. My god, that is not a duty i want to have again. The cord strain I found was the hardest part.

Its 50ft and its the most flexible and thickest orange extension cord I have, but to say its amp rating and gauge, i wouldnt know.

Ive had 2 griots 6" polishers die in a similar fashion to what you are describing. To me, the smell is electrical, the polisher slows down, and yes it does heat up. The only thing I am thinking is that it could be my extension cord, but this cord has been used on my g100 thats over 5 years old...

Out of curiosity, if you were to grab the center of the towel on both sides and pull, will the towel seperate in the middle? Some really fluffy towels I have seen seem to use 2 separate sheets that are just bound around the edges.
