    Pad Size why 5.5 in.??

I apologize I should have given a bit more info. I am using a Griot’s DA(not the Professional model:joking:), with their orange pads and Megs 105. After a few frustrating hours, I sped up to near 6. Before this I was closer to 5 and applying a fair amount of pressure. I have slowed my arm speed...

    Pad Size why 5.5 in.??

I have a 2012 BMW that I have been polishing. I am new to this so I could be wrong, but it sure seems to have a hard clear coat. After getting frustrated over the length of time it was taking I have ordered 5 ½ pads. Will I notice that much difference dropping from 6 ½ to 5 ½ pads? What size of...

    Collinite Confusion

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Seeing as I am from Northern Canada I was thinking of using 476 as my winter wax. Obviously I will have to make my mind up before then. I am new to detailing, so I apologize for the rookie questions. Would I be wrong in assuming that all pre-wax cleaners have...

    Collinite Confusion

Some questions about Collinite. On here some people swear by it, others swear at it. I am not certain if anyone can help me with my confusion. Perhaps I should be posting them directly to their site. Anyway here goes: 1)- Why do people use 845 instead of 476? If 476 is more durable, wouldn’t it...

Best detailing tools that are not made for detailing

I am not certain if this qualifies but it sure makes things easier. I have four pieces of 2x4 approximately 1 ½ feet long, that I’ve cut at an angle on one end. I place them in front of the tires, then drive up onto them. The tires are then propped up so cleaning and dressing the bottom of them...

    Live Video Broadcast - 1947 Chevy & 1986 Porsche 928 - Extreme Makeovers

Hi Mike, first off, thank you for the live stream tonight, it was excellent. The only complaint I have is, with a beer commercial every 15 minutes or so(much better than the BP commerials), guess what it made me do. I am a new registered member to the forum, but I’ve been lurking for about a...

    Clay Lubricant ??

I am confused about the use of an Instant Detailing product as a lubricant when claying a car. Am I wrong in assuming that the product has wax in it? Are you not causing yourself more work, due to having to then remove it, before adding your LSP? Would it not be better to use a mixture of soap...
