Dave, I have worked with Dana on several vettes and the best results for defect removal is either a 3M wool pad with 105 or some of the white Kompressor pads with 105. He showed me a few tricks with the 105 and Kompressor pads. Menzerna SIP isn't going to touch the defects in the vette's hard...
Dana, I don't know about you but I am really getting tired of this crap...I have been detailing cars since I was fifteen years old and I will be 38 in March...I am so sick of people trying to make buffing a car more complicated than sending people to the moon.....I think certain people here try...
I understand what you are saying..However, at the end of the day, I am going to take the word of my own eyes and experience, over anyone's "Real Chemist in this situation...I don't care if God came down from the heavens and told me to take his word because not only he created the universe, he...
I guess what you are saying is that IPA is not the cause of the scratching but rather the inferior Autogeek towels....
to Z- OH-6
A good quality microfiber towel should not scratch the paint, regardless of the paint type....Plain and simple...The whole point of using IPA is to get rid of any...
Are there any other kind of chemists other than the real ones?
Assuming that we are using Grade A Autogeek microfiber towel, there should not be any scratching to the surface after the alcohol dries? I use IPA day in and day out without any problems...
Just wanted to let everyone know that Dana has a full 44 oz. double chamber of Royale and is looking to trade samples for other stuff..Everyone should post up what they got to trade....
Dana, I have lots of tire shine........
Nice work and a beautiful car..
The red "clay magic" bar is extremely hard and adds some serious marring to the paint. I'm surprised that you didn't have to do any polishing before laying down the sealant...Can you tell me if you're using a different technique that allows for that?
Thanks,
Sean
What about a good tire shine? Can't you use that to add the extra slickness and wetness? I thought glazes were for donuts? Thay have no business being applied to a vehicle. Furthermore, it would be impossible to wipe that crap off that flawless paint that all the hard work has been put into..
Yo A$$#&@E ROCKET,,,,
Didn't you detail that black 350Z in the picture above? Looks very familiar....
Also, I'm kind of new to this buffing stuff so excuse my novice questions...I thought "IPA" stood for Intense Polishing Action? Is there a detailing dictionary that I can buy to help expedite...
Is it possible that the paint had a good bit of glaze on it from the dealership which in turn was washed off by the carwash people? The reason I'm asking this is because I saw some buffer swirls in some of the pictures...
Nice work>>>>>>>>
To autodromo...
No offense anyone, but the last three full pics of the car have been heavily Photoshopped...Look at the Saturation levels in the tailights and headlights, they don't even look real, they look cartoonish...I am sure the car looks great and not to take anything away from the hard...
I have been using their products since 1995...I've used and love their Polish & Seal. Just got a gallon today..It is vey easy to apply with a rotary. They have two compounds which are very effective but make a lot of dust and don't finish down as good as some of the other brands. The Polymer...
I have the D/A and rotary Flex polishers. Which one are we talking about and can someone please post a pic of what needs to be oiled?
Thank you,
