    Mr. Pink conspiracy theory

Yes, I agree thats why I said more research would be needed as I am not really sure that I would be able to get the results that we would be looking for. Would be nice if someone with some chemistry background could do this test...

    Mr. Pink conspiracy theory

Chemical Guys makes some great products, but I will agree with you there website is bad... really bad as far as providing information. I find it best to use sites such as this one to gather information, Mike's videos and posts are great. The microfiber towels they make seem like they are great...

    Mr. Pink conspiracy theory

I think that you are referring to me as the one mentioning the condition of the water... I like where you are going with the idea of testing this out. I am thinking that this summer maybe I will purchase a PH test kit along with the needed chemicals to adjust the PH, high or low. What I can then...

    Nanoskin Glide Vs CG Luber

Something else to think about regarding price... Unless you plan on calying a lot of cars your not going to need 10 gallons. From what I have been reading 16oz give or take a little should be enough for one car. Given that CG Luber can be found for $12.71 per gallon it may still be cheaper to...

    Nanoskin Glide Vs CG Luber

Wow! Would appear that you are right, Nanoskin Glide has a 10:1 dilution ratio according to the manufacture website. That means 10 Gallons of this stuff would only cost you $39.01 and 10 gallons of CG Luber would be $127.10!!! Almost seems to be to good to be true, but if it works then maybe...

    Mr. Pink conspiracy theory

Seems like your dilution is on par, Chemical Guys says 1oz per 2 Gallons so for three gallons of water 1.5oz would be correct. Assuming that you are using a bucket that does not have gallon measurement markings on it I would recommend getting a gallon jug and a permanent marker and adding some...

Also what kind of water do you have? Hard, soft, well, spring, city... etc. These things all play a factor.

    What type of hose!?

Those rubber hose's are just so heavy....

    What type of hose!?

So I have been looking at getting a polyurethane water hose. Light Weight, 3lbs per 50 foot of hose 150 PSI bursting strength Kink Free Will Work In Cold Temps However they are not cheap and they normally are a smaller diameter 1/2 inch so this means increased water friction and less...

    Nanoskin Glide Vs CG Luber

While I have not used either of these products I am in the same situation that you are in. As I am getting ready to buy a NanoSkin pad as well and was looking at both of those lubricating sprays. I ultimately decided from the research that I did online that I am going to use the Chemical Guys...

    Detailing as a side job?

You really don't have much of a choice otherwise you take a lot of risk... Lets say say that you are just working on a friends car and you screw up the clear coat some how on the hood and you have to have the hood repainted. You nor your friend have the ability or money to have the hood...

How to find defects on a white car?

So I tired using a single light source in a dark garage... Didn't work still can't see the defects. I am going to wait until it's bright and sunny this weekend (hopefully) and give it another try then. However I think I am coming to the conclusion that I am ok with out of sight out of mind...

How to find defects on a white car?

Yeah, that is where the car is now and it does not show them... I am going to try turning the lights off and use just a single light source like others have suggested and see how that does. Nothing else seems to work that has been suggested here... I will post back and let everyone know if it...

Volvo C30 Full Interior Cleaning 30+pics

Anyone else feel like there should be some kind of fine if you allow your car to get that dirty, especially on the inside?

How to find defects on a white car?

I am going to try the dark garage idea and see what happens.

    Detailing as a side job?

But even with insurance you are not 100% protected, you would most likely need to have a business that is listed as an LLC. Which once again for a weekend side job I don't think you could make enough money to cover all of that. It is an interesting thought though I may call my insurance company...

    Detailing as a side job?

That is pretty much what I have been thinking which means that doing this as a hobby with other peoples cars is not going to happen. Really even doing this as a side job would be hard esp if you planed on only doing it on the weekend that means you might be able to do 1 to 2 cars a weekend...
