How to find defects on a white car?

Great point... My parents unfortunately are not able to take care of there own car due to physical limitations, both of them are disabled so they are forced to taking it to this car wash. However since the car is fairly new and I want to help them out I have offered to take care of the car for...

How to find defects on a white car?

I am incline to agree with you. My personal car is black as well and shortly after owning my first black car (this one is my 2nd) I decided that it was best to stick to paint correcting only once a year. Since on a black daily driver I find it next to impossible to keep it looking perfect...

How to find defects on a white car?

I think that this really depends on how long you plan on keeping the car, how often the car is used, is it garage kept, and how many miles are driven per year just to name a few... I mean here in PA where I am at if you have a daily driver I don't see anyway that you are going to avoid putting...

    Detailing as a side job?

So I find this topic to be of interest as well... I have a full time job, but would not mind doing detail work on the weekends something like one car. However my question is do I need a business license and insurance? My fear is that until you factor in items such as a licence, insurance...

How to find defects on a white car?

So after reading all of this I am starting to ask my self if it is this hard to find the defects is it even needed to correct them? Plus every time you have to correct defects you are pretty much taking a very small layer of clear coat off of the car which overtime will weaken if not completely...

Hmm... Looks like I am going to have to keep hunting.

How to find defects on a white car?

I have tried that already and it did not work... This is my parents car that I am working on and they take it to a local car wash facility to get it cleaned. My understanding is that this particular place runs the cars through an automated car wash and then wipes the car down and cleans the...

How to find defects on a white car?

I have a white 2014 Hyundai Azera that once the weather breaks I want to polish, seal, and wax. I have been making a wishlist of items that I will need however I cant seem to be able to see the swirls and scratches on the car, is it possible that there are not any? This car has been maintained...

    Salt build up removal.

Yes, that is what I had originally purchased the product for as it was said to be the best at removing per stains and odors. Then one day I decided to try it in the car and discovered that it pretty much works on every stain you can think of. Really is a great product cant say enough good things...

    Salt build up removal.

I agree. Important to remember that salt/calcium chloride (most commonly used in road treatments) is freely soluble in water, so the use of items such as vinegar and carpet cleaner should not be needed. That being said you will need the carpet cleaner to remove the other grime that is on the mat.

    Salt build up removal.

To add to my last post it also helps to realize that there is a lot more on those floor mats in the winter then just "salt"... None of which is very good for carpet and if not removed rather quickly can/will cause permanent damage to the mat. Chemical treatment materials include: Sodium...

    Salt build up removal.

I live in Pittsburgh PA so dealing with floor mats that are covered in salt is nothing new. My plan of attack for these items is take a Shop Vac with a stiff brush attached to the end and vacuum as much of the salt off of the mats as possible. Its been my experience that it is much easier to get...

    Holograms, what are they?

So I see a lot of talks on here about holograms in the paint from polishing... However I am still not very clear as to what holograms are and how exactly they form when polishing. If someone could provide more information and maybe some photos that clearly show examples of this that would be...

    Mr. Pink conspiracy theory

My thoughts... For me I find that Chemical Guys has a lot of overlap in there products with very minor differences between one product and another, they are trying to make sure that they have a product for every specific need out there. That being said I think that most of there products are...

    Questions Regarding Sealants

So lets say that I go with the Jet Seal... Would this below be good for the prep? Wash, using Chemical Guys Bug and Tar. Clay, using Nanoskin foam. Wash, using Chemical Guys Bug and Tar. Polish and Remove Defects, using Chemical Guys V38 and if needed V36.

    Car Detailing Regimen, thoughts? feedback?

Thanks for the information. Wouldn't the nanoskin pad remove the tar? I don't really have any grease build up on there so I never really put to much thought into this... I suppose that instead of washing the car with the regular car wash soap that I could hit it with the Chemical Guys Bug and...

    Questions Regarding Sealants

So I have been tossing the idea around of applying a sealant to my car such as Chemical Guys Jet Seal, but have a few questions. If you apply a sealant do you still need to wax the car? Will a carnauba wax even work after a sealant has been applied, meaning will it adhere to the car? I...

    Car Detailing Regimen, thoughts? feedback?

So I have thought about what you are saying and I should have put this in the original post... Even though the plan is to only keep the car for 3 years I want to detail the car as if I am going to keep it long term. I do have questions regarding the sealant and it is something that I am...
