Miscible and Immiscible - Wax and Paint Sealant Bonding

neuralfraud, you make a very good point. I think that sometimes we as consumers can fall prey to these "gimmicks" that might help somewhat, but aren't exactly necessary. Really it comes down to actually experimenting with different methods to see what works for you. I plan on doing that myself...

Which work light brand are you using?

Has anybody tried the LED work lights? It doesn't seem like they could provide enough lighting and they're way more expensive, but maybe I'm wrong.

    Thanks Mike! Makes complete sense.

Tip: Frequent car care equals fast and easy car care...

This is where I get confused...even after reading your article on the benefits of using a paint cleaner. When is a product like Wolfgang PPE or some other paint cleaner needed? From what I read, if the surface needs clayed, then it probably needs to be cleaned with a paint cleaner. Don't get...

Tip: Frequent car care equals fast and easy car care...

So if I understand correctly Mike, you didn't remove the previous layer of sealant (other than what might have been removed during the claying process)? You just "reapplied" the sealant as you stated, correct?

If a car is black, and they don't want to polish it, I prefer not to touch it....

It's frustrating, but I think a lot of people don't notice the swirls like we DO people do. They see that the car is shiny and clean and they're happy.

    Paint transfer when claying

When I clayed my car for the first time my clay was a little red like that. And I have a silver car. It may not be paint transfer in your case either. Have you tried a white foam pad on it yet?

Can I throw Lake Country pads in washer?

Somewhere between 1 and 100? Who knows really? Depends on alot of things. I would recommend testing 1 a few times and seeing how it holds up.

This article might be useful to you. Dried egg might be a little tougher to remove, but this is worth a shot.

    Car Egged - Advice Please

Number 1 sounds good. Not sure about the vinegar though. Most important thing is to remove it asap. Keep us posted. I'm sure there are others that could benefit from your experience.

One man's Detailer is another womans PoolBoy??

It's definitely a good idea to stay away from those situations if possible. We as humans have a tough time saying no sometimes when something like that is right there within our reach. It's hard to think clearly in those situations.

Wolfgang DGPS 3.0 amount to use

I probably used 2-3 oz. Way too much, I know. It actually wasn't too hard to remove. I'm glad I'm not the only one! The pad was actually soaked through to the backing plate with sealant. Do you just let the pad air dry, then reuse it? I'm surprised that hasn't been done yet. That...

Wolfgang DGPS 3.0 amount to use

Thanks for the quick replied everyone! Sounds like if anything I might have used too much product, as I continued to apply an "X" on the pad for each large panel on the car. Sounds like at first this would be ok, but after the pad soaks up some of the product, I can back off on adding any...

Wolfgang DGPS 3.0 amount to use

It's a metallic silver, not as dark as a gunmetal gray, but not as light as say a Honda Civic silver. I set the speed to 3. Though I wondered if I should set it lower when I switched to the 4" pads...

Wolfgang DGPS 3.0 amount to use

I detailed my car using a Griot's ROP for the first time over the weekend. This is my first experience using a machine to detail my car. For applying the wax, I used the red LC CCS pad. I've read the how-to on how much product to apply to the pad, which I followed, but I'm not sure if that's the...
