neuralfraud, you make a very good point. I think that sometimes we as consumers can fall prey to these "gimmicks" that might help somewhat, but aren't exactly necessary. Really it comes down to actually experimenting with different methods to see what works for you. I plan on doing that myself...

Has anybody tried the LED work lights? It doesn't seem like they could provide enough lighting and they're way more expensive, but maybe I'm wrong.

So if I understand correctly Mike, you didn't remove the previous layer of sealant (other than what might have been removed during the claying process)? You just "reapplied" the sealant as you stated, correct?

It's frustrating, but I think a lot of people don't notice the swirls like we DO people do. They see that the car is shiny and clean and they're happy.

When I clayed my car for the first time my clay was a little red like that. And I have a silver car. It may not be paint transfer in your case either. Have you tried a white foam pad on it yet?

It's definitely a good idea to stay away from those situations if possible. We as humans have a tough time saying no sometimes when something like that is right there within our reach. It's hard to think clearly in those situations.
