Quick question, the Meijer store near me has the DA power pack pads on sale. Are these the same quality as the soft buff spot pads they offer, they look the same. Thanks

    $10.00 hand car wash/detailers

My hand washes are $45 but I go way above and beyond and my customers know that. If the car has tar I take it off for them, ect... Basically its like a mini exterior detail. I have even spent 45 minutes polishing oxidized chrome wheels just because I didn't have anything else to do for the...

Nanoskin Pad Marring, What did I do wrong?

I recently did a correction on a blue 2009 WRX hatchback. I used the fine grade mitt and it marred the paint pretty good. I did a experiment and the marring came out with just one slow pass of pf2500 on a orange pad, but the defects remained.

Any serious Mountain Bikers Detailing here?

Hardcore mountain biker here !!! When I detail my bike I take the chain off and soak it in gasoline. Then blow it with air, put it back on bike and lube. Have you tried a wax chain lube? They help keep the chain and drivetrain cleaner. I just use apc on the cassette now since changing to wax...

Gelcoat took way to long, need rotary

Yeah, I have that marine 31 product. Just bought it. Heavy cut cleaner wax. Doesn't cut near enough. Maybe on a rotary it would. M105 was way more effective for me. Way more. If I were relying on marine31 Heavy cut cleaner wax I would not of got the job done period! Funny, everything I...

Gelcoat took way to long, need rotary

Hi guys, I worked on a sea-doo speedster today that had faded and oxidized gel coat. The most aggressive combo I had was a rupes 15 and foamed wool pads with m105. Of course I had very poor pad rotation with the foamed wool so I had to use a megs MF cutting pad too. The correction process...

    Been a while, still ONR?

I use blackfire rinseless myself. I use it for rinseless wash, clay lube, quick detailer, and water conditioner. Works good on somewhat maintained door jams, but most of the jams I do are very dirty, so I use APC on them. I never do rinseless washes either, but I mix up a rinseless bucket for...

    Boat pricing

I have never did a boat before for a customer but I have 2 identical sea-doo speedster jet boats to do this week. Customer is mainly concerned about polishing the outside of the hull and the rear where people step in is also faded. I'm going to try to get under the boats as much as possible...

    Sold in stores?

Its even funny to go into a body shop supply house. Lucky if they have 3m products. I went in and ask if they carried Meguiars, they said "sure do" with a snicker, then asked if they had some 3in Microfiber cutting disk and they looked and me like I was crazy... "they make those...

    Hose Nozzle Frustration - Craftsman?

Yes! They are definitely more robust than the plastic style nozzle with the spinner adjustment for spray pattern.

    Hose Nozzle Frustration - Craftsman?

Hard to beat a metal Gilmour. I ran over mine with a SUV and it still works fine!

    Black carpet, caked salt

That's a good idea, I thought about it. I need to make a buy a cone to prevent water overspray. I just don't go blasting a pw on customers interior. Maybe a short blast with a cone.

    Black carpet, caked salt

Ill have to pick up some DA brushes. I don't have any yet. But, I think the bristles may just glide over caked salt. I tried to brush it pretty heavily at first and no salt was removed. I had to chip it away with a small sharp plastic scraper. You think the stiffest DA brush would be best?

    Black carpet, caked salt

Hi guys, detailed a 2014 Ford Fusion today that went through a horrible Michigan winter with just the OEM all weather mats for protection, which is pretty much none. Black carpet with salt caked thick, maybe 1/8in. on some spots with no carpet visible. I vacuumed while chipping away at it...

    Mobile floor mats

I have a weather tech like cargo mat from a old Tahoe I sold. I throw it down and clean my mats on it so I'm not cleaning mats on bare dirty concrete.

Help with compounding and polishing by hand.

I doubt your 2005 jeep just has light swirls. Cars have light swirls brand new most of the time from dealer prep. Your not going to do much correction by hand, and if you do it will take a very long time.
