    My First Time

Like you, I'm not really into the "very shiny" look. The AA Extreme Tire Gel really does the job in the looks department. Durability-wise we will see...

    My First Time

The rubber seals on the doors apart from the wells. Not for looks, just to keep it pliable (and to use up the AA LOL).

    My First Time

Yeah... I just have a lot of it lying around. Can't bring myself to throw it away so I'm just using it on wheel wells and rubber until it runs out. Open to suggestions on a replacement.

    My First Time

Wow thanks everyone! And you're all right. Even though it was a lot of hard work, now I'm just thinking about the next time I work on the car and what I will use and how to improve. Definitely hooked. Whether that's a good thing though...

    My First Time

It took me 4 days total but it was completely worth it! With a lot of help from Meguiar's Detailer and Ultimate lines. Removed the wheels, cleaned and dressed the wheel wells, then cleaned and waxed the wheels with Ultimate Wax. Followed by an engine wash and dress. I went very light with the...

    Most regretted detailing product purchase

I bought a complete POS wheel brush at Pep Boys just to avoid paying 30 dollars for a Speed Master Wheel Brush because I thought it was too much money for "a freaking brush". Well, the Pep Boys brush lasted exactly 2 washes before breaking and the two times I did use it was a horrendous...

    Counter weight/backing plate concern

So, to summarize: The counter weight on the PC is a remnant of it's original function as a sander. Using different backing plates with the same counter weight doesn't seem to affect effectiveness (not enough to notice anyway) so it shouldn't be a big issue. Setec Astronomy... Too many secrets?

    New to detailing

What's wrong with The Absorber Chamois? Not defending or attacking the product its just that I have been using it for years without any issues and reading this has certainly caught my attention. It scratches? Damages? What? I'm new to the forum as well so this is what I signed up for. To learn.

    Counter weight/backing plate concern

OK so the more I read, the more I want to get on these. One question though... From what I've read, the PC comes with a counter weight for a 6 inch backing plate. This means I would have to buy a 6 inch backing plate plus 6.5 inch pads to use it out of the box. Right? I keep reading about...

    Color Polishes?

OK, so lets say that yes, they do work. Then the question is how? Using your analogy of the glasses, the glasses affect your vision because of the shape of the lenses in them and in the case of tinted glasses, the color of the lens. So what you are saying is that a color wax darkens the clear coat?

Autogeek impossible to reach via email?

Yup, had a similar problem while trying to reply about an issue with my order but got them on the phone and solved it. Their server seems to be either down or damaged.

Absolutely no business coming my way!! WHY?

I'm not a pro so I could be talking about out of my butt here, however... I do have a small blog that depends on social media and since you mentioned it I'll tell you this: You need to work on your Facebook/IG/Twitter game. 50 followers is way not enough to attract business. Learn to use the...

    Color Polishes?

Myth or science? Having owned black vehicles most of my life, I have often seen and heard about color waxes. You know, those waxes that are specifically formulated for a single color (black being the most common) and that it will "bring out" said color more than "regular" wax. Odd since wax is...
