Layering erg different brands of wax

Well, these waxes are 5 years old, and I have new products that I am planning to use for my next detail - McKee's and Finish Kare. Might as well use as much of them as possible before tossing them out I won't be detailing my weekend car until May. Although it won't be driven much (and will be...

Layering erg different brands of wax

Is it ok to layer with different brands of wax? For example, I have a layer of Collinite 845 on my car. Can I apply a coat of Sonax Super Liquid Wax on top of Collinite? I just want to use up remaining waxes that are taking up shelf space. Would that harm he paint? Or would that reduce...

    Question about automatic car wash

That makes sense. I detailed my weekend car, and the water still beaded after clay and IPA wipe... I hope the new layer of wax sticks until spring, although I'll drive it a couple of times a month or so.

    Question about automatic car wash

Will touchless not strip off wax, regardless of chemicals used in the tunnel? I always use touchless for this car.

    Question about automatic car wash

Just checked the underbody washer. Nice tool. But still gonna take this thing to auto car wash. Handwashing one car is already too much during cold winter season. Don't make me wash two cars out in the freezing weather!

    Question about automatic car wash

Well, I did ask the manager before, but he had no clue. I even called Esso office (gas station near my house where the automatic car wash is located), but I couldn't get an answer. Both times, I straight up asked whether the soaps are close to detergents in terms of ph. But I believe those soaps...

    Question about automatic car wash

Do soaps and other chemicals from automatic car wash strip off sealant and waxes that were applied by hand? I am planning to detail my daily with one coat of Klasse sealant and one coat of Collinite 845. I was wondering whether I should even bother to detail my daily if I'm going to put it...

Nanoskin AutoScrub vs Mothers Speed Clay 2.0

Thank you. One more question You and another poster mentioned rinsing the synthetic clay after a couple of panels. Can I use the synthetic clay even when it's wet?

Nanoskin AutoScrub vs Mothers Speed Clay 2.0

Thanks for your input. I would love to store the synthetic clay in my house but I am an OCD germaphobe... I can't just put it in my house unless perfectly cleaned and washed. So can I wash the synthetic clay with hand soap? Or regular bar of soap? Or can I just store it in the garage away...

Nanoskin AutoScrub vs Mothers Speed Clay 2.0

OP here. One more question: Does synthetic clay also strip off sealant and wax? I know clays and ISP do not completely strip off wax and sealant, but I still would like to know whether synergetic Clay is effective at removing wax somehow

Nanoskin AutoScrub vs Mothers Speed Clay 2.0

Wow. Thanks for detailed response. I really appreciate it I have one bar of clay laying around, so I'll use combination of both

Nanoskin AutoScrub vs Mothers Speed Clay 2.0

Thanks for your input! I've heard that clay is better... Is this true? Should I use both clay and synthetic clay?

Nanoskin AutoScrub vs Mothers Speed Clay 2.0

I am planning to use synthetic clay bar for the first time. I was wondering whether there is a significant difference between Nanoskin and Mothers in terms of how well it picks up contaminants. I can just buy Speed Clay at local store while I have to order Nanoskin... Furthermore, are there...

Wax and sealant left in cold garage during winter

Email from Collinite: If the product is not severely discolored and is shaking back to a semi-liquid state or gel, it is probably fine. If it appears that the clear oils are completely separated from the wax, I would discard it.

Thank you Klasse had smooth, oily and creamy texture.

Wax and sealant left in cold garage during winter

Applied Klasse sealant without issue. It was in nice milky/oily texture like last time I used it. Buffing off didn't seem harder than before (Klasse is already difficult to remove after hazing). Car looks great although longevity remains to be seen. Collinite was in liquid form. But the temp in...

    Question about cleaning engine bay

OP here My car is a 2011 BMW (original owner). And this is the first time I used degreaser to clean engine bay. I just didn't want to spray the engine bay with water, so I just wiped it with a rag soaked with degreaser. I used a degreaser from a company called Simoniz. It wasn't diluted at...
