    Question about cleaning engine bay

I soaked a rag with degreaser and wiped the various parts of engine bay as long as my hands could reach them. I did not rinse the engine bay with water. I just let the degreaser dry. I was wondering whether this could damage plastic parts in the engine bay Thanks in advance

Clean a section (a couple of panels) of the car with quick detailer.

How about rinsing the car with water first, and then cleaning the roof with QD?

    Detailing for winter season

Never done rinseless washing before... Kind of scared to because I might damage the paint. Is it really as simple as spraying the foam and wiping it off...? If so, I just might give it a try since washing cars in winter is a nightmare.

    Detailing for winter season

I've used UQD before, and it seemed to leave quite a noticeable streak... I don't know how things are now though. How is the protection compared to Sonax?

    Detailing for winter season

What about Meg's Ultimate Quick Wax? Sonax is not easily found in stores, and I'll have to order a bunch more products to save on shipping charges.

    Detailing for winter season

I guess I'll just apply a coat of Collinite then.

    Detailing for winter season

Thanks for all the inputs. I appreciate it I've decided to apply a layer of sealant or wax since the car will be driven through dusty-salt roads time to time. No matter how clean the roads are during winter in Toronto, there always is salt during winter. Gotta protect the paint against salt...

    Detailing for winter season

Hello. I detailed my car during the first weekend of July. I applied 2 coats of Klasse sealant and a coat of Collinite 845. Since then, I've driven the car less than 500 miles. And after car washes, the car was sprayed with Meg's UQD. The car was always kept indoors. The paint surface seems...

Cleaning bird poop... Full wash or QD?

Thanks for your inputs. I really appreciate them. What is tricky for me is that my car is white and is a hardtop convertible. It is difficult to see what is on the paint. So far, all I've spotted was yellow-y splatter on windshield. And the metal panels get stacked and stored inside the...

Cleaning bird poop... Full wash or QD?

Thanks for your input. My car is white, so it is hard to see what's on the paint surface. Furthermore, like I said in my original post, it was even more difficult to see during sunset. I wonder whether it could be something else since the goo-ey splatter thing on the windshield is solid...

Cleaning bird poop... Full wash or QD?

I don't have ONR or any waterless-rinseless products at home. Furthermore, I've never used these products... If you think I take care of my car, you should see me take care of my house lol. Washing the car is no issue. It just takes 30 min. But cleaning up after the car wash takes several hours....

Cleaning bird poop... Full wash or QD?

I washed my car on Wednesday. And I drove my car to work on Friday. After coming back home, I noticed that there was yellow-ish splatter at the bottom of my windshield! I roughly examined the paint, and there didn't seem to be any bird poop on painted surface. I couldn't be sure though as my...

    Leather protectant

According to the label, the protectant is supposed to last a year... Can anyone verify that claim? Also, is there a way to tell whether the protectant is still on the leather surface?

    Leather protectant

Wiping down the interior takes less than 5 minutes. Vacuuming seats, applying the protectant, removing residue on interior trims, etc takes anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour...

    Leather protectant

I applied Chemical Guys leather protectant a week ago. I was wondering whether wiping the leather surfaces with damp cloth (MF or terry cotton) would not undo the layer of leather protectant I applied. I occasionally have to clean the interior as my car is a convertible. And according to a...

Glaze.. Before or after sealant + wax?

Is filling the only capability that glaze offers? Is this how glaze achieves extra shine and gloss? I've known glaze can add show-car appearance but didn't know it achieves that by hiding swirls....

Glaze.. Before or after sealant + wax?

Yes, it supposedly adds extra shine and gloss, especially for show cars. And tbh, all the sealants and waxes claim to hide swirls to certain degrees. I am confused right now because there are many conflicting accounts on when to apply glaze. I remember reading that glaze would be stripped off...

Glaze.. Before or after sealant + wax?

Is glaze something that is used often? Maybe even for weekend cars? And does glaze really add noticeable shine or gloss?

Glaze.. Before or after sealant + wax?

Thanks for reply. Is there a reason why you would top the glaze with wax? Would it make last longer? I already applied a coat of Klasse sealant. And then I topped it with a coat of Collinite 845. Should I apply a coat of Griot's glaze, and top it with another coat of Collinite? At the...
