I use XMT polishing pad cleaner and works great with polishers; when cleaning wax from a pad I use a bar soap

You are not mentioning any spraywax like Aquawax or Mothers Reflections, both work great as a booster; I use a spraywax when drying my cars all the time ;)

Well today I decided it was time to use my rotary (I've been using the PC for three years now), and I found out that you can get great results with very different combination of pad/polish than the ones used on the PC due to the greater speed/temp generated by the rotary. Using two test spots...

If you want to remove those swirls completely and rapidly you should use Menz Final Polish or SSR1 with a PC (white LC pad or yellow Megs pad).

I have also followed the technique mentioned by killrwheels and it's very easy to apply/remove and leaves a great shine. I use a little spray bottle and a foam applicator to apply a thin coat by making horizontal and vertical strokes, then, before it dries I remove it with a MF towel; then wait...

I've used PB's SSR1 and Menz Final Polish and both work great. SSR1 has zero dusting and MAY be used under the sun, and Menz Final Polish dusts a little bit but leaves a higher shine. Well if your car is already in perfect paint condition, then your order is OK, but if not, you would probably need some polishing options like PB 2.5 and 1 polishers and maybe an AIO polish too
