2011 Black Lexus - Polished and CQuartz

Read again TT, I did say that his car looks nice, I'm not picking on him at all. If he wants to show off his car, fine just admit it. I don't know what kind of dealership you deal with, but my new cars roll out looking pretty good - especially from Lexus. My problem with this forum is people...

2011 Black Lexus - Polished and CQuartz

:whs: I understand that he's proud of his car, and it does looks nice, but really...not much effort to make a new car look good. My wifes' '07 IS looks pretty nice too for four years old. HeavyMetal...finish the job and detail those tires too.

Looking for ideas on new garage

Lots of great ideas here, some of which I implemented when I did a garage makeover. I wash my cars in the garage year 'round and the floor drain would be nice. I have air lines run through the walls and outlets in two locations for blowing out the crevices in the car and for air tools. The...

    My first paint correction.

Nice save. I always like seeing this kind of post instead of "I just detailed my 2011 something-or-other"...big deal.:dunno:

Question about washing after a rain...

I thought I was bad, but you're all OCD is you'll wash a clean, dry, car at 11:00 at night. :dunno:

Does anyone else hate when people try to pretend like they know more??

:iagree: And, claying a car isn't rocket science and mine don't take over an hour. But a seriously neglected car should take a little longer longer.

    So angry!

I vote for saying something to the person and suggesting that they foot the bill for PDR. I have a whole science on choosing where I park and so far - no dings. But there are times that you have to get the only space left and hope that the car gods are watching over you. Good Luck with whatever...

    Looking for a New Ride

The DIY stores around here - and I would think everywhere else offer truck rentals for cheap. $20 for an hour or so. Gets your stuff home and doesn't require investment in a truck or the insurance. Now you just have to decide on a fun vehicle that would double as a mobile detailing unit. Have...

    87' VW Scirocco

Great work, the owner must've been ecstatic seeing his NEW car. These are the kind of detailing posts that I really enjoy, and the kind of work that always gives the greatest satisfaction.

Any Tips on Quieting Down My Generator?

I don't have an generator woes, but thought that I'd check your problem out anyway...I've always wished that I had a quiet lawnmower. This could be your answer: Joel's Garage: Quiet Generator Muffler

Does it matter what type of garden hose I use?

:iagree:I have always bought the best Craftsman hose. They're guaranteed for life, no questions asked - and they're just easier to live with than the cheap hoses.

    Is Tire Dressing needed?

I can't tell you how many times I've looked at an obviously "just detailed" car and thought how much better it would look if they had finished the job and dressed the tires. Brownish tires on a great looking car are just wrong. Especially a black car. I prefer just a low sheen and a nice natural...

Need help with 1968 corvette gt-3055

$12 not $12,000...at least that's what I hope you meant. A low mileage '68 without all the hokey stuff, numbers matching, somewhat collectible Corvette would MAYBE get $12,000. Offer $6 and be happy to walk away.

Used car - was a Smokers

Did you change out/clean the cabin filter? My used car purchase smelled of cigarettes and all it took was blowing out the cabin filter. I thought that I'd have to replace it, but that did the trick.

    Best cordless drill?

At least there weren't any of those stupid "LOL"s thrown in too.

    How would you handle this?

You don't need customers like this one. Be glad he's going elsewhere...but, he might find that everyone is charging more and you might start looking good to him. I'd still turn him down if he returns.

    What was your first car?

1964 Impala SS, midnight blue with light blue interior, chrome reverse wheels, air shocks, and a gawd-awful Mustang hood scoop that the previous owner violated the car with. It looked fast, but was truly a brick, (327 Powerglide). I wouldn't race anyone continuing the speculation about how fast...

    Garage lighting suggestions

Diffusers really cut the output a lot. If anything I'd try to reflect all of the lost light.

New lighting for garage... feedback welcome please!

:iagree: I have 5 48" fluorescents in my garage and would like even more. They are efficient, don't cast many shadows, and they don't throw off any heat. I like to keep a super-bright halogen stand lamp around if I really need some extra light.
