I think you can't go wrong with either. I have nanoskin towel (fine) and it works great after 2-3 years. I used it last month and no issue. I only clay a handful of cars each year. As for clay lube, there is a range of products you can purchase if you want to try them. I used to use ONR as clay...

Thanks dnoraker! I do the same for regular polishing - throw a gunk up pad into a bucket of water with APC (or pad detergent). Essence will work well for me

Is essence more difficult to remove from polishing pads than the standard compound/polish residue?
