    Some Advice

If you are only going to keep the truck another 2-3 years, is it really worth spending the money to you?

    Tyler aka tapp1 visits Autogeek!

Mike, thats cool that you'd take the time to do that with a member randomly dropping by. :dblthumb2: Almost makes me want to move, but then I remember the humidity and hurricanes from when I lived on the gulf coast. I do miss salt water fishing though.

Having a business solely based on youtube training

You may laugh, but that is where I learned about botfly larvae and used that info to remove a small one from one of my dogs. No, I wouldn't use that info source to perform major surgery inspite of my dissection and butchering experience, but running a buffer isn't surgery. Even doctors start...

What should I use on underhood plastics?

I've used McKee's tire coating on my wife's ls3 intake and cai (removed the engine covers). Held up pretty well. Just produces a mild smell for a couple of days when the engine warms up.

    Neice's Car

Thanks. They were great to work with! Ya, I think it did open their eyes to doing more than washing, vacuuming, and a coat of wax. They also pointed out the paint damage from not taking care of it, and the moisture and dirt being held in the crevices from all the live oak leaves that have been...

    Neice's Car

Had a couple neices come stay with us for a little while. I asked if they wanted to learn some of what I do, and they were all for it. The car is a 2010 GT. The paint hasn't been maintained well. Bumpers need a repaint and it has a lot of little chips. It has only received infrequent...

How do you handle people who like to be sticklers but are also customers?

You're right about the average person's notion of clean. I see it all the time at car shows and meets. People rub on their cars dry or apply some otc spray wax with a terry cloth and put signs on them that say "please don't touch." Spectators ooo, and aah over these cars, the owner is...

How do you handle people who like to be sticklers but are also customers?

I don't market like that, she just used that term, but he is right. I started talking about paint correction packages while she just meant she wanted a wash. It was slow, I wanted something to do, and she was referred by a buddy that has a mechanic shop so I even cut her a good deal on my...

How do you handle people who like to be sticklers but are also customers?

I'm sure we all do the same with different things to varying degrees in our lives too. I give a price and time. If those don't work, then they can go elsewhere. I'm not trying to be mean or rude, but it has to be worth my time and product too. You can't go to a custom car builder and expect...

    Good soap for overall mantinence?

Its is not unlike spraying on a waterless wash vs using rinseless in a bucket. You still need the water, soap and agitation as Bob stated. The difference is that instead of 2 buckets, 1 for soap amd 1 for rinse, you can dispense the soap directly on the car or sponge and use 1 bucket for...

Long lost love (Camaro SS) Wants to return home. Dilemma!!!!

That has already been an issue with 4th gen fbodies. Getting a sail panel when the stocker started bubbling due to the adhesive issue was impossible. Couldn't find them when I had mine. 6LE finally got some made, but he is the only vendor so what happens if he goes out of business? There are...

Long lost love (Camaro SS) Wants to return home. Dilemma!!!!

I sold my 00 Camaro back in '10 or '11 and haven't looked back. Probably would never go back to one after experiencing a couple other platforms. Now I'd love to have my '70 SS again though. Just my $.02.

    Mckee's 37 Paint Coating, revisited

Description of D155: The formula contains polymeric lubricating agents that remove dust and fingerprints as they form a slick, micro-thin coat of gloss. The lubricants allow dust and dirt to wipe off without scratching.

    Which Tires????

The RSA's may be horrible on your Camaro. Had them on a Grand Am and they were fine, but they hydroplaned and did horrible in light snow on our G8. Continental DW summer tires did better in winter than the all season rsa's. Cooper RS3 may be a good choice. I had the rs3-a on the g8, and it...

Is Iron Fallout a Regional Issue?

It works on my wheels, but I've only barely had it color change on the cars I've done in the dfw area. What I get a kick from is the term "rail dust." We live 2 blocks from a highly used rail road and my wife works in Fort Worth which is a huge rail center. Neither car has shown much of it.

    Hunting tips?

How far of shots do you think you'll have to take? .30-30 is fine to 200 yd. or so. Anything further and I'd go .308, 7mm-08, .243, .30-06, .270, .280, 8mm mauser, you get the drift. Will you be setting in a stand/blind or stalking? I ask this hecause that heavy barrelled tactical .308 will...

    Teach Me About Coatings...For Wheels!

Use a wheel cleaner and remove the old wax. M37 wheel coating is like the pbl, but cheaper if you want something to try. If going pbl, I got the surface coat so I could do the whole car. I also haven't noticed the wheel coatings repelling brake dust. Maybe they do to a degree, but you still...
