To my AGO friends, With a heavy heart... prayers needed.

Just read this for the first time, from first post to most recent. Praying for your family, for you. Stay strong in faith; and trust that God is the ultimate physician. HIs will is best; and your example of love and dedication is inspiring. Take care of yourself through all of this; and I'm sure...

which machine do i order? for steam

Great news, hope it works well for you. Keep us posted on the product and your business. When I saw a "Leno's Garage" segment (on youtube) about the value of steam cleaning both interior and exterior, I was very impressed. Again, thanks for your service!

    Detailing How-To Book and Detailing How-To E-book

Greetings Mike, of your current book selection, which would offer the most compatible "how to" advice with respect to a "newer" polisher such as my Meguiar's MT300? (Kindle Fire friendly or hard copy) Thanks as always, Peter

Chris Jacobs from Overhaulin at Cars & Coffee this Saturday!

Looking forward to some pics of the Foam Gun class. Looks like my next step in cleaning the daily drivers; but want to make the right choice out of all the options (type of gun, soap, best choice for a non-professional). I agree with the other members, Cars and Coffee is a great way to start the...

Pictures from November 14th Cars & Coffee

Thanks again Mike. I washed and waxed Sunday evening (hand applied the wax as it was getting dark in the garage; and I trust my hands more than the polisher when it's late). The wax definitely helps remove residual product "specs" from previous steps. Having some mechanical work done this...

Pictures from November 14th Cars & Coffee

What a great event! Thanks to Bob McKee, Mike Phillips, the entire Autogeek staff, Wayne Carini - and a bunch of great folks in the car community for a tremendous start to the weekend... saw a lot, learned a lot, and made it home in time for lunch with the family!

    Chip Repair - Repair?

No problem Setec, everyone has been great with suggestions, I just don't have a ton of experience so I always err on the side of caution. One of my issues is that I want to be very careful with the clear as I am already battling isolated sun damage. At this point, the only thing I want touching...

    Chip Repair - Repair?

Hey folks, just a quick update: the idea of removing the excess touch up paint with thinner was great, the thought of storing a quart or more in my non air conditioned garage (or in the house with two young kids) was a bit scary. Being the King of Caution, I purchased Testors paint thinner...

    Chip Repair - Repair?

I recently read an article that said metallic/pearls are real tough to match... Murphy's Law. While I hope to be driving this forever - a complete repaint of the area is out of my budget (2 young kids). I just want to do the best I can at doing a clean job and protecting the metal underneath...

    Chip Repair - Repair?

Thanks Paul... one more question for everyone: A big part of my "discomfort" with my touch up job is the poor color match (two sources with the same code). The touch up spots appear lighter; surprising to me as I would have thought a 13 year old car would have faded color. So, would it make...

    Chip Repair - Repair?

For those familiar with the Dr. Colorchip product, based on the photo can you recommend which of the two products would be better: Road Rash versus Squirt and Squeegee? Or, Touch up bottle with #1 artist brush?

    Chip Repair - Repair?

Thanks Setec, I'm the king of caution... P.S. spent most of my life in Bergen Cty, NJ.

    Chip Repair - Repair?

Only one or two deep chips, the rest were "white spots" as opposed to deep, to the metal chips. If using lacquer thinner, how do I make sure I don't leave any thinner residue on the paint... paint prep spray?

    Chip Repair - Repair?

Paul G, that does sound like a good approach. I like the fact that Dr. Colorchip seems to tackle the "blob factor" within the process. While Dr. C is a bit more expensive than touch up paint and a brush; better to get a good result than do it 2 or 3 times and still feel disappointed. Thanks!

    Chip Repair - Repair?

Yes, Setec Astronomy, it's factor clear. I would love to get a "do-over" on this by removing my first attempt and being more precise on the next pass. Thank you!

    Chip Repair - Repair?

Here's the story, of a man named Newbie... Greetings, Long story hopefully short: 13 year old car with rock chips. I had two brands of touch up, best match being Mopar PB7 Patriot Blue pearl coat. Unfortunately I didn't know about using a small artist's brush versus the house painting brush on...

How to clean an engine compartment

Thanks again for the detailed response Mike (pun sort of intended). The more I learn here and try, the more comfortable I get with each task. I did my wife's engine bay and mine in the past two weekends, lots of paint projects planned for the cooler weather - and the other night I pulled off...
