    The Ph study

If you are using car care products from a quality manufacturer, don't even think about pH. Nothing to worry about. The chemists from these major manufacturers have taken care of it for you.

Black WOW or Meg's Ultimate Protectant

I use Meg's D156, a.k.a. UQW. It leaves a nice new satin look, definitely not greasy at all and it lasts for weeks. It also doesn't run down on the paint when it rains like some dedicated protectors do.

Old Man needs a little help.

As a 71 YO detailer with a good deal of arthritis, I have been forced to alter my detailing routine, with much anguish BTW. When my arthritis flairs up, I'm relegated to using a touchless wash and bring it home and do a UQD and UWQ to keep it shiny. I'm still able to give it a proper detailing...

    Review: Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer

QID also works great on LCD panels and gauge clusters and contains some UV protection. Nice product.

    Leather cleaning debate

The LM Protection cream is pretty liquid. I apply it with a foam applicator pad. It goes on wet and thin and will not clog any perforations if applied like this. The idea is to apply a very thin and even coat.

    M16

M16 Tip: If you apply too thick a coating and it hardens, it will difficult to remove. To remedy, just reapply some more #16 to re-liquify the hardened wax, thin it out, then buff it off easily. This wax is very easy to remove if applied thinly. One tin typically does about 80 applications so...

    Meguiars 26

I've observed this DOI with #26 for years. IMO, you are spot on with the comments on #26 and images of the incredible DOI. I wouldn't be without it for my garage queen. Nothing I've used, new or old, had that same DOI. It leaves me smiling after applying. I might add that it provides a...

    Hydrofluoric Acid to clean wheels?

Re: Hydrofluroic acid to clean wheels?!? My experience with Hydrofluoric Acid. A few years back I was working in a historic part of Milwaukee. The building I was working was adjacent to a Muni parking lot. The owner of the building I was working in decided to hire a building restoration firm...

    Keeping That Fresh Wax Look!

Another benefit of the weekly wax or sealant spray refresh of the LSP is that you are also restoring the original slickness which wears away as well. This slickness makes the paint MUCH easier to wash the next time as dirt, bugs, etc., don't get as good of a grip on the paint. This also is a...

Leather conditioners that cause seats to become slippery?

Ditto Bob's comments. No "conditioners"... ever on coated leather. I always use a water-based fluorocarbon protector like LM Protection Cream.

Shakey weak and fatigue in the middle of detail?

Just curious... do you ever take your pulse when you feel shaky? Pulse at rest? Pulse when you wake up in the morning? Ever have a stress test? Best advice is to discuss your issue(s) with a doctor. Any number of us here on the iNet can offer suggestions based on our own experiences but...

    Difficulty removing Meguiar's D300

My opinion... When polishing you are grinding paint. In all likelihood what is hard to remove is spent polish and paint that has dried or gotten gummy, right? Try working in a small area no larger than 2'x2' and clean the pad after every pass or two. Try using only one or two passes and...

    Coated or non coated leather?

Just a quick comment on doing a water drop test. Most leather auto upholstery uses real leather on the seating areas only. The areas like seat backs are often largely made up of faux or synthetic leather, IOW vinyl, "looks like leather", material. I'd suggest testing the leather in an...

    Leather color transfer

I suspect the seat area may have been re-dyed and not re-cleared by a previous owner or dealer. You should not be getting color transfer from coated leather in good condition. Since this appears to be the case, expect the seat to show the underlying cause soon. I'd see a restoration...

    Old Wax Emergency

I'd try using more of the same wax. This should re-liquify the old wax and make removal easy.
