telescope forums? anyone know much about them?

Go to the news stand and buy Astronomy Magazine. Also on-line at Astronomy Magazine - Interactive Star Charts, Planets, Meteors, Comets, Telescopes. I have a Celestron 8 and have been observing for about 25 years. As far as cleaning, a slightly dirty lens is much better than a scratched one...

    Removing old M105

Best tool I've used for this type of residue is a pink eraser. Easily gets into the cracks and crevices and one swipe removes the residue.

    Meg's ultimate wax????

I've been using UW for about 8 months and it holds up very well for me. I do use UQW after most washings however but 8 months is a long time. This vehicle was driven through seven states, encountering snow, salt, and lots of rain, tons of bugs, and it still beads like crazy. Car is garaged...

    Please be careful with photos....

I recall that when Steve Jobs was still alive he would not license his autos. He would lease them for 6 months at the end of which he would trade them. The CA law gave him 6 months to register so he would avoid registration. He got a new Mercedes SL 55 AMG every six months. Guess he never...

    Antique Computer Software (Seriously)

First computer Apple II Plus, 64k RAM. Dealer: "You will never need more memory that that." No floppy disk drive but it used a cassette recorder. This was a time before there were any PC's or Windows. LOL First software: Visicalc, RobotWar, Colossal Cave. Crappp... I'm getting old. ;)

    Telemaketing/ Scammers Calls

Put your phone on the federal "Do Not Call" list.(Donotcall.gov) If you get a call from a telemarketer inform them that you are on that list and if they call again report them to Donotcall.gov You can also sue them and I read of more than one making a good deal of money through several suits...

Giveaway! Meguiar's NEW Tire & Trim Gel

Tough to choose only one D-line product as my favorite but I'd guess it would be D156 Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax.

Vinyl & rubber cleaner & protectant

I stopped using vinyl dressings in the interior about two years or so ago and have only used QID since. I like the look and the product does leave some UV protection behind. I especially love that it adds no gloss, works on all the interior leather, vinyl and even the LCD panels. For exterior...

Any else dislike Ultimate Liquid Wax?

I rather like ULW. It is easy on and if applied thin it is a breeze to remove. I love the fact that it can be applied in direct sun and doesn't dry white so it allows me to use it on all the exterior including black textured vinyl trim. I notice a high level of slickness as well, lasting for...

Business Cards are in! What do you all think?

The following is just my opinion and I hope that you don't take these comments as being critical. I added a jpg for your inspection with suggestions of how I think the card might be improved. I don't particularly care for the font used in the business name. It is distracting and kind of messy...

    iPad question.

If you already have a smart phone with 3g/4g I'd suggest WiFi may be all you need on the iPad. WiFi is so readily available nearly everywhere these days I hardly ever need to drop down to 3g/4g. I'm surprised when an establishment doesn't offer free WiFi. My next iPad will be WiFi only and if...

    To condition leather or not?

I'd suggest you take a jewelers loupe and inspect the cracks to be sure that they are realy cracks and not excess conditioners or detergents that have dried in the creases. Putting an oily conditioner on cracked leather is a no-no. The oils will seep into the leather hyde and loosen the...

    The best window cleaning product

Hands down the best glass cleaner I've ever used is the Meg's Glass Cleaner concentrate D120. I also love to apply UQD (D156) to the glass for a streak free, rainX effect. The polymer coating is especially good at making future cleanings a breeze.

    Removing Blue Jeans from Leather

Conditioners won't prevent dye transfer. You need a water-based fluorocarbon leather protector for that. Leather Masters Protection Cream is one that I use and know works.

    To condition leather or not?

Your Lexus leather is coated. It is a split leather hyde that has been tanned and painted to make it look nice and uniform. Uniform in color and texture. Much like vinyl, it is coated with a urethane paint. You are looking at paint not leather. This leather is best treated with a product...

    Review: Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax

I'm also a long time user of UQW a.k.a. D156. I use this on the whole exterior of the vehicle. As alluded to, it does a great job on vinyl trim and has replaced my dedicated vinyl dressings. It also does a good job on glass. This is as close to a AIO for weekly maintenance that you can get, IMO.
