How did I get into this hobby?!?

Yesterday I was out In the yard polishing and applying opticoat to my moms car, and my neighbor, who moved in just a few days ago, walks over to the fence and this is how the conversation went: Neighbor: "is that a hobby or something? You've been outside all day everyday since we moved in doing...

Rupes users, especially with the washer mod, an important tip...

I'd also add that I smear the product around before turning it on, ESPECIALLY on vertical panels, until you get the hang of it. It has a tendency to start slow, then power up quickly, which can force you to tilt the pad and sling gobs of product all over

    Griots 3" ..Not satisfied

The gg6 is awkward with a 3" bp and 3" pads. I'm not saying it won't work, but the shroud on the gg6 overhangs the 3"bp and pad so it's kind of odd. The smallest I go with my gg6 is a 3.5" bp with 4" pads and that works great. The gg3 isn't a correction horse by any means, however, it works...

And to add to my post, currently using a rupes 21 with fg400 and it works incredible for those wondering how menz works with a da. Also using fg400 with a gg6" and having just as amazing results.

Nice order. Thinking that power finish will be in my next order, as I just ordered super intensive polish. As for fg400, one word: amazing. Basically can be used as a one step on light colored cars in bad shape, and in many cases as a one step on darker colored cars. The stuffs incredible.

    Too Much Time Spent

I'm still amazed I hear that you guys can get a full polish job done in one day. I want to know what I'm doing wrong! I understand these are usually customers cars, but do you take longer on your personal cars? I tend to be a perfectionist for the most part, not a pro by any means...

I made a no no and I need your guys' help

Thanks for all the input. Yea I just was freaking a bit because I wanted to get it done but rushed. Now I just feel like I wasted a whole day and got nothing accomplished, not too mention the thought of removing more clear. I'm just gonna go ahead and repolish it all with the fg400 and opticoat...

I made a no no and I need your guys' help

Only thing is it's a family member car. I'm definately the only one who's ever polished it. It just kinda has me sweating bullets not knowing how much clear I've removed, then wanting to go back over it with an aggressive compound. 😕

I made a no no and I need your guys' help

Hey guys, Im currently using fg400 as a one step polish, and I absolutely love it. However, it is classified as a compound and not a polish, which kind of worries me. Here's the story, and bear with me as it's a bit lengthy: I began polishing a daily driver in hopes of one step polishing and...

VERSUS PART 1: CG Diablo vs Sonax Full Effect

Diablo won't strip any type of wax, sealant, or coating, whereas sonax will, correct?

    Opti-Coat

Looks good. I have to ask, is the car garage kept? Endure winters? Daily driver? Just wondering because I'm considering opticoat for my moms car.

    Borderless Blonde MFs by Zaino...

They're definately nice. I ordered some about a month ago after reading all the hype about them. I love that they're borderless, and they're quite fluffy on both sides. I've currently only used them for polish removal, but can say they work like a charm in that area. I'd pick some up while...

    Audi metal trim repair/polish

I just polished some trim like that on one of my personal cars, and although it's not an Audi, it was real metal, not some plated plastic piece. Chances are that that's metal and needs a metal polish. Pick up a quality metal polish and put some on a rag and rub it on the trim. You should get a...

Finally decided to use diminishing abrasive polishes more often...

I've been using fg400 over the last couple of weekends polishing out my gf's car. She picked it up used and the paint was a swirled mess. I literally thought it was going to be much more labor intensive than its turning out. I'm using the fg400 with a rupes 21 and a yellow polishing rupes pad...
