    Drying Aid

My favorite has been Glassparency Boost. Pretty stout for a drying aid/topper so it seems to have a higher concentration of SiO2 than many other products I’ve tried.

    Best choice for my ATV

Since we’re talking plastic, I’d probably recommend CarPro DLUX if you want a coating as it is often put on wheels and plastic trim so application is somewhat flexible and it is durable. But really I’d go with Griot’s Ceramic 3-in-1 Ceramic or 303 Graphene and do that more often.

Carpro Cquartz UK3.0 Topped with SIC

CQuartz SiC, which stands for Silicon Carbide as its main ingredient. The purpose being that it has more chemical resistance than UK 3.0 and is also supposed to help with mineral deposits (water spots). Can be used on its own but many like to add it as a second layer to UK 3.0.

    Autogeek sales?

And since they didn’t learn about the first two, the third plummets. Maybe they should rename themselves to tax deduction firms.

    Are detailer's anal and critical??

I used to put my tires up on wood initially and then thick plastic that I ordered specifically for my wheels but they kept sliding so I bought some low profile ramps and place them such that my tires hang over the edge. Much easier to clean and dress now.

    Are detailer's anal and critical??

Are you sure? :) The annoying thing that got me this past year was Klasse commenting about my wheel wells being dirty and DFB showing the EZ Detail brush…and now I clean my wheel wells with every wash dammit.

Easiest way to prevent clear coat failure on older DD in Florida weather 24/7?

If you’re looking for something quick and easy, Griot’s Ceramic Spray Wax gets good reviews and lasts 6 months or so and is easy to get. Can’t get much easier and it provides good protection, including UV.

If you could only choose one complete “system”?

And we definitely see someone like TTQ B4U using consumer coatings and does very well I’m sure but I’m not sure if he is a full or part-time detailer but a business regardless. So there are definitely some that use consumer coatings and people still see the value as you suggest. But we also...

If you could only choose one complete “system”?

I’m not a business so I don’t know or really care about any commercial coatings. Not so much charging but we know how long it takes to do the job right, which is polishing, prep, and coating. That is a lot of time and effort. So even without an upcharge, the labor will be, what, 10+ times more...

If you could only choose one complete “system”?

If it were one brand as your question suggests then it would be Meguiars. Griots has good products and breadth of products and of course CarPro makes great products but doesn’t have full end to end. But Meguiars is the most complete line with enzyme cleaners and cleaners I don’t even know...

What did you do today non-detailing related?

Either you did or you didn’t, there is no middle ground. Geez. :) Looks great!

Looking for a top tier glass sealant repellent.

I’ve got Gtechniq G1 on my glass right now and I still see it even after 6 months but I think I’m going back to Kamikaze Glass Coat as it is he best I’ve used. Blackfire Glasspro was definitely not good. And the sealants usually only last a few weeks.

    Tire Dressing

What? WHAT? Sorry, I can’t hear you because I’m passing a Jeep. But yes, I can’t believe how loud some Jeeps and trucks are as I pass them…quickly so I don’t have to listen to their drone. I’m sure they rule off-road (if they go there) but I utilize my car’s capabilities to get past those...

    Portable Tire Inflator

I have a Milwaukee M12 inflator for the house and each car. Works great. But I had already standardized on the M12 system.

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Very smart of you. I bought my wife some perfume samples from micro perfumes for Xmas and then figured out what scents we liked and I bought her perfume for Valentines. And for that I get filet mignon and scallops tonight for dinner. Woohoo!

    Tire Dressing

I was actually going to mention the same but didn’t want to continue going back and forth with Coatings making him look bad. :) But yes, on a sedan, the DWS06+ did not feel composed when driving spiritedly but I didn’t know how to categorize it until you mentioned soft sidewalls, which is...

Best MILDEST polish by hand ?

I don’t recommend hand polishing except for small areas where a machine can’t be leveraged. Think about how hard it is for a newbie to install a coating without high spots. No way is someone going to be able to evenly polish a full car. That could result in an inconsistent look in full sun...

    Tire Dressing

My previous tire was the Conti DWS06+ but when I needed to replace them, they were not available due to post-Covid inventory issues. That’s how I ended up with the Pilot Sport All Season 4s. The Pilots are better than the DWS-06+ from dry and wet handling to also being a little quieter. Only...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I hope the road is straight if you need to put the spare on. Turning will be optional. :)
