What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

You forgot about the layers upon layers of tire dressings. :)

    Door Sound Proofing

Look up information for a hush projector as well as enclosing generators since you have to allow intake and exhaust. Also focus on decoupling of the generator from the ground. I sell big home theater subwoofers (18” and 24”) and one thing I’ve done to decouple subs is to put multiple layers of...

    Door Sound Proofing

I had a car I did about 20 years ago and every summer CLD (Raamatt) leaked out of the bottom of the doors and ruined several pants of mine and my wife’s. Now I won’t cut corners or try for a cheaper product. Besides, there is a performance difference for cars. HVAC is pretty easy in terms of...

Meguiar's Hybrid Paint Coating - First Use

It was discontinued in local stores but that was over a year ago so it looks to still be going strong as a mail-order product.

    Door Sound Proofing

Sound deadening should not be done with a single product. Dynamat is a common product recommended and it is a constrained layer dampener (CLD) product, which essentially adds dampening/mass to a panel to decrease the frequency with which a panel resonates. They do have other products but CLD is...

    Tire Dressing not drying

This was my experience as well so I went back to DG 253.

    Rinseless wash sponges

Me too. The summer thunderstorms were much more problematic than the winter storms. I miss when Northwest had a hub in Detroit as if I got stranded there, I could grab a hotel room at the Westin, which has a security gate directly to the airport terminal. Fortunately, I don’t have to travel...

Looking for a top tier glass sealant repellent.

I’ve tried a few and one I would absolutely skip is Blackfire Glasspro. Tried it twice and it didn’t last long at all. Polished the glass with a Rupes Coarse Wool and then rewashed with Reset to make sure prep was as good as I could get. Didn’t last long and wasn’t impressive for very long...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I like that look. I didn’t much care for the looks of TWHSATSSC on my Michelin Pilots so went back to DG253.

    Rinseless wash sponges

That is what I noticed as well. Using Uber Rinseless would leave the BRS dark/black in spots. With N-914, the BRS gets clean after a single rinse in the bucket, even doing a rocker panel that turned it almost black. So N-914 is my go-to rinseless with the BRS though I haven’t tried some of...

Help me Spend my $$ on Wheel Brushes

I like the Mother’s wheel brush that I use for wheel faces and tires. For wheel wells, I now use the EZ Detail Go brush that DFB recommended and I love it. I don’t usually worry about the sides/back of the wheel since as you said, it is hard to get brushes in there. I do have a Microfiber...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Finally got to wash my car after the freezing, snowy, and rainy weather we’ve had the last 2 weeks. Car looked awful but now it looks good though likely not for long as the roads are still wet in some areas. Got to use my new (Xmas present) 50’ Adams expandable hose and I liked it well enough...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I applied GTechniq G1 about 5 months ago and really like it. I’ve had better coatings in terms of water flying off at 35 mph but it didn’t last as long. G1 is still going strong but not sure if it will get past 9 months or so.

Tire DressingS... So many choices... Geez!

I also tried TWHSGTSC but I didn’t like it as much. It was harder to get a consistent look when wiping it on though I didn’t want to have to come back and wipe later as the instructions suggest. And while I know the TW dressing was still there because the tires were beading water, it certainly...

Tire DressingS... So many choices... Geez!

Duragloss 253 may still be available at some local stores. But after trying quite a few, I ended up going back to DG 253 because it works well on my challenging Michelin tires. Most dressings don’t like them.

    Essence and Eraser question

That’s my understanding. It is Gyeon Primer that suggests waiting 24 hours before coating and to use Gyeon Prep if coating before 24 hours. But if waiting 24 hours, I’d use Prep anyway to remove dust.

    **Bosko's food porn**

Damn. I lived in Fairbanks, AK for 3 years, which is a few miles from North Pole, AK and I never tried “Max Sapad”. Damn, missed opportunity. :)

    Carpro Essence+ - Sealant?

Rupes Uno Advanced is the latest one touting 6+ months on durability but it hasn’t been out long enough to determine true durability but I’d expect it to last longer than Essence+.

NAME A FEW OF YOUR MOST COVETED TOOLS OF THE TRADE.

Me too. I gave it to my family so they could wrap it as a Xmas present along with a 50’ expandable hose.

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

My choice too, but I’m silly like that.
