Wax is gone ! How can I prove this out?

Imagine this.... You apply a fresh layer of wax, then you put plastic wrap over it. In this experiment, you discover the water does not bead on the plastic wrap, so is the wax gone? In my head, that is sort of how I imagine road film and chemicals effecting various paint protection products...

CarPro Essence Plus on Uncoated Paint

I've tried it twice, and both times hydrophobic properties were poor. Application process as follows: Wash and decontaminate vehicle, apply Essence Plus via DA machine with finishing pad, allow product to sit for ~0 minutes before removing. Wipe off was a breeze and the product was quite...

    Car Pro

Expected behavior of a hydrophobic surface - high surface tension resulting in minimal contact area between water and surface resulting in water "beads". Expected behavior of hydrophilic surface - low surface tension resulting in maximum contact area between water in surface resulting in a...

    CarPro Reset Car Shampoo ?

Slickness is a byproduct of some ingredients used in a variety of detailing products, but it is by no means a long lasting property in most cases. It is very common for the slick feeling to disappear after a thorough wash. Most nano coatings are not slick to the touch as it is, so if you wish...

Wax is gone ! How can I prove this out?

Perhaps defining what we mean by "protection" is a good place to start.... the whole idea of "if it beads... if it sheets... there is protection" may or may not be true depending on what qualifies as protection. Clear coat provides protection to the base coat, I think we can all agree on that...

Wax is gone ! How can I prove this out?

The issue is that water beading is not a sign of whether or not a protective layer is or is not on the paint. Water beading is a product of high surface tension, and surface tension can be altered by many things. To answer your specific question, I believe the only real way to prove if a...

Bought this pressure washer..... but it won't pull from a tank of water... Any help on what pressure washer will?

You need a unit with a direct drive pump that can draw water in from a static source (ie does not need a pressurized water source). Don't be mistaken if a unit says it can siphon chemicals, that is not the same. I'd recommend contacting a local pressure washer supplier other than a general...

Bought this pressure washer..... but it won't pull from a tank of water... Any help on what pressure washer will?

Looks like your unit uses 2.5 GPM of water, so you need a pump that can provide more than 2.5 GPM of water. This is probably overkill for your needs as it is capable of 1500 GPH (25 GPM), but something along these lines...

Bought this pressure washer..... but it won't pull from a tank of water... Any help on what pressure washer will?

Are you going to be running a generator on your mobile setup? If so, you can run a water pump to create pressure at the pressure washer water inlet and you would not need a pressure washer that has the ability to draw water from an unpressureized source.

    My morning at the dealership....

Eh, give the guy a break... they don't know any better. Chances are he is just repeating what he was told from some other guy who also doesn't know any better.

A pair of Hellcats---soft, med or hard paint?

We’ve done 4 hellcats... all black, all brand new, all with considerable defects from the factory. 1 metallic black 2015 model - medium, easy to work with paint. 3 jet black 2016 models - very soft paint.

Question for the Pro's, RE: Inner wheel cleaning/glue removal...?

They can be used on painted body panels, but the instructions state to NOT use them on plastic panels like bumpers. The eraser wheel can generate quite a bit of heat, so it isn't too big of a deal to use one on the barrel of a wheel, but you must use caution and common sense when using one on...

Question for the Pro's, RE: Inner wheel cleaning/glue removal...?

Honestly... I've found eraser wheels to be the absolute quickest and easiest way to completely remove this type of residue. I used to soak with all sorts of solvents... but it makes a mess and still takes a while. The eraser wheel is quick, easy, and not messy.

Range Rover Sport '07 Cant Get Rid Of Micro-Marring/Swirls

There is no one product that will work in all scenarios. If there was, well the car care industry would not be so vast. My advice is for you to begin experimenting to help diagnose your issue... Using your Sonax PF, consider trying the following: - Primed Pad vs. Unprimed pad - Different Pads...

    CQUARTZ in cold temps.

Application temp is what is crucial. The vehicle surface and ambient environment should be brought up to the recommended temperatures for best results.

    Ceramic coating botch job

Every Mazda I have ever seen (including the one we own) has stupid thin paint. Our CX-7 is <80 microns all around, but I have done a two step correction when we initially purchased it, and a light polish every other year or so since then without issue. As far as the coating goes - it sounds...

Some inital thoughts on Carpro new Clear Cut Compound

I haven't used Fixer, but I have spent a lot of time with Reflect (and Essence). Initially I could not get decent results with Reflect to save my life. It would mar the finish almost every time and was a pain to use... I was using it like I would use M205. After speaking with Corey, I found...

    Do you contact customers?

Absolutely... if you have availability in your schedule, reach out to existing customers rather than trying to find new ones. It is often cheaper and easier. A phone call goes a long way... even if it is as simple as "Hey Mark, this is Zach from The Detail Shop. Just wanted to say hi and see...
