Professional Ceramic Coating Problems and can I top it with a coating from AG?

^This. It is so easy to get your hands on "professional coatings" that almost anyone can do it. There are elite brands which hold their installers to an exceptionally high standard... but even then some bad apples make their way through the sorting process. It seems the OP found a not so...

Professional Ceramic Coating Problems and can I top it with a coating from AG?

1 oz = 30 mL That is absolutely enough to do more than 1 full vehicle. What coating was used?

Professional Ceramic Coating Problems and can I top it with a coating from AG?

You can and should reapply a nano coating to any area that has been polished. Nano coatings are exceptionally thin, so any sort of abrasive (polish, compound, etc) has the chance of degrading or completely removing the coating. Water beading is not a sign of protection, so do not be fooled by...

    Gyeon Mohs really sucks (photo)

I have experienced tacky coatings many, many times. I assume this is what you are referring to, not "static". Tackiness can be a result of several things... most commonly it is due to a coating that is still wet and not yet ready to wipe, or that has already begun to set and needed to be...

    Gyeon Mohs really sucks (photo)

I have not used MOHS personally (yet), but it is always a bit bothersome when someone claims a product is garbage after trying to use it once. No 2 products are the same, so they should not be treated the same. There are so many variables that will effect how a particular product behaves in a...

Wash car with 1 bucket and multiple mitts?

I do the "1 bucket, multiple towel" rinseless and waterless process all the time... but it had never occurred to me to try a "1 bucket, multiple mitt" method for traditional washing... seems like another safe option for completing the task of cleaning paint.

How much is to much coatings?

I'm not sure if it ever "stops adhering to itself"... but the returns are certainly diminishing after the first layer IMO. The coating will not behave differently with 1 coat vs. 5 coats. Coatings are so thin that if you wanted to build up any significant film, you're applying so many layers...

What have you done after paint coating's life span?

You stated "My main goal is that sacrificial layer that'll protect the paint. So even if after 2-3 years the coating is worthless but it's still there to protect my paint, I'm happy."... this means you should absolutely use a nano coating. I have been testing nano coatings for years, and I...

    1 Step Polish

If you're seeing a lot of dusting with M205, something is not right. This is perhaps the only product that I have continued to use since day 1 of my "detailing career". It is a low dusting product. The dusty culprit is likely your pads or technique... it is much harder than people realize to...

Good quick detailer for ceramic coated vehicle

I use Meguiar's D156 all the time... it is a product that I will never fall out of love with :) I will use a "coating topper" as a drying aid from time to time as well... these include Gyeon Cure, CarPro Reload, GTechniq C2, 22ple VS1... I also find that I like Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer &...

Buying GTechniq Crystal Serum Light... Where to Buy?

Just buy 50 mL and do a few more coats :)

    BMW Paint Super Soft?

Towels should be washed after every single use, regardless of if they are drying towels, plush quick detailing towels, glass towels, etc. It is way easier to buy 50 towels and do a load of laundry as needed than try to get by with 8 towels and hope you don't scratch your car by using the same...

    BMW Paint Super Soft?

Then you have several things to consider. First, your technique/process... Are you working in a shaded area on a vehicle that is completely cool so you are not forced to rush through the process? Are you washing from top to bottom, saving the dirtiest areas for last? Are you doing the 3...

    BMW Paint Super Soft?

Holograms... from washing? Do you perhaps mean swirl marks? If you are truly seeing holograms, they are a result of your polishing process/technique and not your washing process/technique.

Yep. It was a great car... just too small for a family with 2 rear facing car seats.

    Labeling Bottles?

Do you use a special kind of tape? I tried a label maker a while back and the labels just kept falling off the bottle after a little while.

    Essence+ and High Spots?

Happy to help. Given the age of the coating, I wouldn't have used it personally. Most manufacturers give a 1-2 year shelf life for their unopened coatings... if my memory serves me right, OC2.0 has been off the market for over 2 years. Hopefully it holds up for you.
