boars hair car washing brush vs microfiber mitt

Nothing like doing things the old fashioned way... ...Dunking a dirty brush into soapy water. LOL!!!! No scratches is 20 years. I wouldn't dunk anything dirty back into a soap bucket. His words not mine. LOL! Again, I'm not afraid to use a boar's hair brush or a mitt that I...

boars hair car washing brush vs microfiber mitt

I don't worry about one of those brushes holding onto dirt and not rinsing clean, at least not one I'd maintain. I have no doubt they release dirt. I have absolute faith in the above linked review. The issue I have is feel. Whether you use a brush with a pole or without a pole, you just...

    M83 on the loose

Just to be clear for those reading into the future, I wasn't trying to compare any SMAT products to DAT products and I even stated talking about making an apples to apples comparison...that would be DAT for DAT regardless of brand name. Actually Setec (I'm not jumping on you just making a...

Products you wasted your money and time on and why

You just single handedly figured out a way for all of us to keep Meguiar's D114. All they have to do is quit producing the trash you just mentioned. They get rid of two junk products, and keep a stellar product. A win, win!!! I find it easier to just keep tires clean rather than dress...

    M83 on the loose

PM sent DAT is DAT, or it isn't DAT. Old, new, future. The types of abrasives may be different, but the principle is the same. Carrier liquids, oils, chemicals may be old, new, future. Principle is the same. I doubt chemical make-up, aside from working time and abrasive amounts per bottle...

    Finish Kare 1000P Questions

Ultima is a product I love dearly. I've used it to wash with, detail spray, clay lube, wet sanding lubricant, rinseless, and waterless washing. As good as it smells I've thought about giving it a taste. LOL! I DO NOT RECOMMEND TASTING IT!!! LOL!!! Great bang for you buck compared to...

    M83 on the loose

Blow it out with compressed air and you're good to go, or use a stiff bristled nylon brush. You know...this thread made me think of something. EDIT: Rest of post deleted by me. Not relevant to the thread.

LED's: Replacing the old with the new.

Currently there's 2-2bulb 4ft. fluorescence installed above the work bench in a 24X36 garage...could be 30x36. I honestly haven't measured it. There's also 5 incandescent bulbs, soft white. Obviously, there's not enough light. I hate the yellow look of the soft whites and the look of the...

Meguiar's D114 Rinsefree Express Wash Is Discontinued

Continuing that... -Why try to cater to a market that isn't as big as you thought, but keep the product available for the market you have. I know the response...it's called production and marketing costs. So! If D114 costs more to make and market and profit isn't high enough then someone...

6 LSP's go head to head!

Nice review! They're are quality products. However, thanks for your efforts for pointing out no less than 4 product lines that really do "shine" when considering bang for your buck and more importantly awesome longevity without breaking the bank. Anyone of these could last a weekend warrior...

    McKee's 37 Product Expert Here!

Nick, I understand all that and thank you for the response. I was more pointing out that XMT #4 and 3M SD were likely to two of the hardest cutting compounds offered by Autogeek even though they're not necessarily user friendly and don't finish well. I know it's not often a person needs that...

6 LSP's go head to head!

My personal opinion is that you should take that Dodo shot and place it next to Wolfgang and Powerlock because to my eyes it looks as good as the Powerlock and I would not have expected that. Actually, I expect Wolfgang and Powerlock to perform, but I think you found a sleeper too...especially...

    Beyond repair???

With your test spot you will always start with the least aggressive method first, say your polish. If that doesn't work, then try your compound...and if that works, then use your polish again to refine it. That is the normal progression of how to proceed with a test spot. The idea being that...

    Beyond repair???

So others can help you, it may help to tell us what kind of boat, the year, what tools and products you have. GSKR has given you one important tip...the most important as a matter of fact. You will proceed with a test spot once you tell us what tools and products you have as well as the...

boars hair car washing brush vs microfiber mitt

MF wash mitts like are sold here at AG are really soft. If a brush is that soft, then I have to buy one just to see. I have my doubts they're that soft. Badger hair and rabbit fur maybe, but Boar's hair softer than a quality mf mitt. Wow!

Meguiar's D114 Rinsefree Express Wash Is Discontinued

LOL! No big deal...except I have some ONR left, some OOC left, and Ultima which I love...as well as Turtle Wax. Oh yeah and a gallon of another 'gone' waterless/rinseless 'fluid'.

boars hair car washing brush vs microfiber mitt

Good review. Just know this... ...if the plastic from any of those handles or brush heads makes contact with the paint, it is likely to induce some scratching. Just be careful. As much as that review makes a point of not scratching CD's I'd still like to see the same review on non-metallic...

So let's talk about what's missing. XMT #4 ...the Rocks-in-a-bottle product that Mike so often called it. I never got to use any of this. I have heard it was great on gel-coat especially, and that's what I wanted to try it out on. I heard it cut hard and fast with a long working time too...
