    Tracing the Source of Swirls

So you're trying to finish out with D151 and a microfiber cutting pad on black paint? What you're seeing is haze from the process. The method is too aggressive to finish out. Take a finishing pad with little to no cut and a polish, 1-2 rotations of the pad per second max, with a little more...

Good mechanic - NOT very good with detailing

He seems to be helping people try to learn the very basics. Does what he is doing wash and wax the car? Yes. Do I know better methods? Yes!!!! I wouldn't spend my time negatively criticizing a guy with 300,000 youtube followers and LOTS of videos with GREAT information. Imagine what would...

Big Red Sponge vs Lake Country Wash Wedge for rinseless?

The LC Sponge and Big Red are two different types of foam. I have a bunch of both. The LC Sponges (I believe were to be used with soap, not rinseless type solutions), regardless they fall apart very quickly. Big Red will probably last you the rest of your life if you wash weekly. It's just a...

    Review: DP Turbo Car Dryer

I used to use the Metro Sidekick. I now mostly use the sidekick for interiors or for my helper. The DP Dryer definitely speeds up drying if you aren't currently using something more powerful (only an air compressor comes to mind). I quickly dry with a waffle weave towel to get most of the...

    Review: DP Turbo Car Dryer

Thanks everyone. I'll have some more tips in another thread in a couple weeks. I'm tinkering with some things. When that goes on your new line of t-shirts and makes you millions. I'd like to see a check. ;)

    Review: DP Turbo Car Dryer

Review: DP Turbo Car Dryer The DP Turbo Car Dryer is a game-changing tool for drying your vehicle. It’s 4x more powerful than other small, lightweight and portable blowers while offering several other drying attachments unoffered by other tools. One of my favorite features about the DP Turbo...

Introducing the DP Turbo Car Dryer! 6.5 Peak Horsepower Blower for Drying Your Car!

I'll have a review up later today, but this is very true. Most people just look at horse power and while that does tell some of the story, air volume plays a huge roll. When I saw first saw it I was excited about it. I received it in the mail, unboxed it and wasn't really impressed. Then I...

DP Paint Coating Still Looking Good After 1 Year

Re: Black Label Coating Still Looking Good After 1 Year I've been impressed with the Black Label brand. Very good products. I coated an Equus last December and it's still just as glossy when I did the service. I would be interested to see what would happen if you clay the car. How much...

    CarPro DLUX

I would just clean the trim with an APC, then do an IPA wipe down and apply Dlux. Back to black could leave something behind and it's best not even tho you are doing an IPA. Why introduce more "stuff" if you don't have to. Just put the lid back on and make sure it's an air tight fit. I usually...

    Business Scam Artists

I get these e-mails/texts regularly. I just ignore them. It's just phishing all auto detailing businesses they can find numbers or e-mails for.

    1995 Buick LeSabre | 55k Miles | Blackfire Total Polish & Seal

Thanks everyone. I really do appreciate the kind words and input. I have an equally worse condition, if not worse, toyota matrix in the works. Should make for some great pictures.

    1995 Buick LeSabre | 55k Miles | Blackfire Total Polish & Seal

I replaced D151 with BF TPS. It's easier to wipe off and is easier on trim, etc. I use HD Speed on darker vehicles, and absolutely love it.

    1995 Buick LeSabre | 55k Miles | Blackfire Total Polish & Seal

Honestly, all I did was watch for the oxidation to clear then made 1 more slow pass to finish everything down. The worst of it took 3-4 passes, and the lighter stuff 2 passes. I used 1 pad for the hood, 1 for the roof and trunk, then 1 pad for everything else. The sides weren't too bad, but the...

    1995 Buick LeSabre | 55k Miles | Blackfire Total Polish & Seal

The interior was cleaned only using Steam, Optimum No Rinse, Ultima Interior Gel and Folex. The exterior was washed with ONR, clayed with AG aggressive bulk buy clay bar, polished with various Rupes machines, with a flat Orange Lake Country Polishing pad and Blackfire Total Polish & Seal. I...
