Mobile Detailing: Small Pickup vs Cargo Van

You want a van unless you'll be using the vehicle for something else. The smallest sized truck I would go with, without using a cap would be an f-150. I just bought a 2009 F150 Crew Cab for the same thing. I needed the truck functions outside of the business once in awhile, but the BEST use of...

#1 Tip if You Could Start All Over?

Don't listen to people who haven't done what they are talking about. Lots of Parroting information without checking facts or testing the idea.

Don't let this happen to you...

Sorry about the situation. I got caught up buying supplies early before my chickens hatched (assumed business would continue). I won't make that mistake again.

How do you deal with late/tardy customers

It's just apart of any business. Some people are just pain shitheads. Overtime your reputation increases and more word of mouth appointments book and you don't run into too many non-emergency cancelations. A non-refundable depsoit is a great way to reschedule them if they flaked the first...

    Good stuff.bad stuff.hype stuff

It depends on how what you are going to be using the machine for and how often. If you are running a business and polishing cars everywhere the habor freight will not be in your shop, but if you polish your car once or twice a year then the HF DA is a great tool, at a great value. It all...

DP Glass coating fail on windshield

I've had a similar experience with DP glass coating. It just doesn't last that long once you use your wiper blades. I would try 2-3 applications and see if you get better longevity.

Whats your best tips for interior detailing?

Here is my process for most interiors. 1. Quick bulk vacuum. You aren't trying to get everything just the big stuff that will be annoying during the blowing step. 2. Blow out the carpet, seats, cracks, door panels, consoles, everything. Force things out to make your life easier. You can also...

    Price Refinement

My 2cents: I don't care if it's a brand new Ferrari or a 20 year old work truck, I'm billing my time the same and I'm certainly not giving price discounts just because it's a nice car. The point of this business is to make money and properly detail cars, don't cheat yourself for the ego boost...

Which services to provide for mobile detailing?

Nope, I wouldn't give an option on wax. I use Opti-Seal for the majority of my wash, clay & wax packages. Then I'll add a later of Optimum Car Wax on top. Both wipe on and walk away products, both last 4-6 months and are cost effective. The majority of my customers don't even know what wax is...

    Ford Transit size tank ?

What type of work will you be doing? Rinsless washes or traditional? If you're doing tradition you can do 2-4 cars depending on size with 70-100 gallons of water. If you are just doing wheels and such with the water then it will obviously last you a lot longer. I'm in the process of buying...

Which services to provide for mobile detailing?

Small and mobile this is all I would offer to start. Exterior: 1. Wash, clay and sealant. 2. Wash, clay, polish and sealant (upgrade to coating). Interior: 1. Vac & Damp Towel Wipedown (sounds exactly like it is). 2. Vac, Floor Mat Shampoo and Interior Wipedown with cleaning cracks &...

    IronX Question

I've never had an issue spraying it on any surface that has been cool and out of direct sunlight. Wheels: Spray onto the surface, let dwell, agitate and rinse.

Review: DP Power Wash | Wash & Wax

DP Power Wash produces a rich, creamy foam that suspends dirt and gently removes it from the surface. Long dwell times allow for quick wheel cleaning prior to washing the paint. It does a great job at softening and dissolving bird droppings, bug guts and tree pollen making it a great All-In-One...
