How is this generally used? Can it be used on non-carpet or upholstery surfaces? The "shampoo" name always confused me. I like to use Xpress interior cleaner, spray on everything, agitate with a brush then wipe off. Wonder if that's how this could work?

Ego. I got the 615cfm model. It's shocking how much air it puts out. It's not as loud as you might think

Not sure how that measures up comparatively. All I know is, it feels double the suction of my 18v ryobi, and about 40% more than my shop vac, with the removal of hassle of hauling around a vac, it can suck up water and be used a s a blower. I highly recommend this unit if this is the use case...
